Sky Jump:
For the brave among you the Sky Jump is a great adrenaline fuelled activity to do on arrival in New Zealand, you jump 192meteres (630ft) from the tower looking onto the streets below, this takes approx 17 secs as you a falling at a rate of 75mph.. The cost for this is $175.
Harbor Bridge:
The Harbor Bridge climb is great; also if you are feeling brave you can bungee from the bridge itself, 40m over the water at a cost $99 one of the cheapest bungees in New Zealand. I did not part take in this but my good friend did, it took her two attempts but she did it in the end!
The climb costs $100 and anyone from the age of 7 years can do it, harness and hard hat are provided.

Auckland Central Backpackers (or ACB as it's better known) is one of the largest backpackers' hostels in New Zealand. Located right in the heart of Queen Street (the main business / shopping street in the city centre), it is a convenient landing point for people who have just arrived in New Zealand, whether as part of a working holiday or just to travel.
They offer a whole range of "starter packages" that include extras such as free internet, airport transfers, job search etc. To be honest, you don't save money by buying such packages but they are an easy option if you can't be bothered to shop around.
Getting to the hostel from the airport is a doddle. Auckland airport is a fair way out of the city centre but there is a public Airbus (see www.airbus.co.nz) that has frequent trips (every 20 mins) to the city and stops outside all ...

We only stayed at Surf 'n' Snow Backpackers in Auckland for one night on a stopover whilst travelling through the North Island. We were dropped off directly outside the hostel and immediately we thought what a great location it was in. It is in the very centre of the CBD (Central Business District) and one road along from the main high street which has a load of shops and restaurants and a short walk to the bus station. We'd already been in Auckland for a couple of nights beforehand and so we didn't want to do much - just wanted to have a wander round the shops but our previous hostel had been much further out of town and we would have been in a much better position if we'd have stayed at Surf 'n' Snow.
