Great customer service
Review of Melia El Mouradi Palace, Port El Kantaoui by
isawilda
Advantages: Quiet location, direct access to beach
Disadvantages: Quiet for children
This hotel is located a few minutes walk from the harbour and shops in Port El Kantaoui. The hotel is impressive and the stafff are lovely. Prices are reasonable, but if you drink whisky, take your own from duty free as the whisky is very expensive (£5 per glass) Also some of the drinks are locally produced, and the tunisian bars often serve schnapps instead of vodka. You are advised on arrival that tunsian dinars must be exchanged on departure at ... ...to sterling for you at better rates than the airport. Food is brilliant, they serve miniature danish pastries at the breakfast buffet and their is plenty of choice both at breakfast and dinner. Out and about in Tunisia - really look at any leather goods you are buying and they are often not what they appear to be. Try buying at the state run shops as they guarantee their goods. WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL ...

Chill Out Time In Tunisia
Review of Occidental Allegro Riviera, Port El Kantaoui by
daylehall
Advantages: Lovely hotel with great facilities
Disadvantages: Doesn't have it's own beach
...May 2008. The Occidental Allegro Riviera Hotel is a 4 star hotel.
We mainly booked this holiday just to have a cheap, chilled out week in the sunshine. We also wanted a fairly short haul flight and we felt that Tunisia would be perfect for this.
Travel Time from The UK
We flew from London Gatwick and our flight took 2 and a half hours which was lovely as I am used to really long haul flights. The Occidental Allegro Riviera is located about a 40 ... ...a sister hotel called the Occidental Allegro Abou Sofaine and you can actually use the various facilities at this hotel for free, such as the outdoor and indoor swimming pools, tennis courts, mini golf and the disco although you will have to pay for your food and drinks if you have them at the sister hotel.
Arrival And Check In
As our coach pulled up outside the hotel, we could hear some really loud music playing. As we arrived at the entrance ...

The Hotel Royal Kenz, Tunisia
Review of Royal Kenz Hotel, Port El Kantaoui by
micksheff
Advantages: Very Clean, Good Food
Disadvantages: A Fair Distance From The Main Resort
The Hotel Royal Kenz in the Resort of Port El Kantaoui in Tunisia was recently my Home for 7 nights between the 2nd and 9th July 2006. The Holiday itself was a last minute booking but the Girl at the Travel Agent's said that She had stayed at this Hotel and that it was superb.
The price for the total package, including Flights and transfers was incredibly cheap at just under £200 Half Board for 7 nights and so the booking was made.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
... ...We stayed at the Royal Kenz on a Half Board basis and Breakfast and Evening Meals were served in a large Dining area downstairs. Breakfast was served between 6.30am-10am, we were on the second sitting between 8.30 - 10am.Evening Meals were served between 6pm-9pm, again we were on the second sitting between 8-9pm, which if I am honest was a little bit too late.
On your first visit to the Dining area you are given a dedicated Table, which you keep ...

Kanta-stic!
Review of Hotel Kanta, Port El Kantaoui by
memphisto_chick
Advantages: Super clean, excellent location & facilities
Disadvantages: Food could be poor
...I stayed at the 4* Hotel Kanta in Port El Kantaoui last July. It was the 2nd time I had been to Tunisia, the first being about 10 years ago and staying in the Hannibal Place up the road, which was mediocre at the time, so I wasn't expecting too much from the Hotel Kanta!
We booked an early deal, in January 2005 for the hotel. We paid £598 altogether for 2 adults for 1 week on a half board basis at the Hotel Kanta, which we thought was excellent ... ...we were quite exhausted; the hotel was approximately 35 minutes from the airport, our hotel being the first stop en route for transfers.
LOCATION:
~~~~~~~~~~
500m from main resort centre and 800m from the beach, in the heart of Port El Kantaoui, this hotel is not set in the harbour area, it is outside of the harbour area and is set just outside the main shopping area of Port El Kantaoui.
My Rating 10/10
ON ARRIVAL:
The hotel is ...
Worth a Visit!
Review of Occidental Allegro Abou Sofiane, Port El Kantaoui by
DameKelly
Advantages: All inclusive, plenty to keep you occupied, or just for chilling out.
Disadvantages: Music and PA system around the pool were, at times, too loud.
We returned from our holiday Sunday. It was lovely. The drive from the airport to the hotel resembles Beirut in parts, but please don't be put off. The Abou Sofiane could do with a little TLC on the decor in parts but was kept extremely clean. The food in the restaurant was good and plentiful - which made it all the more baffling why some people chose to push in line instead of waiting! all the staff were helpful and extremely friendly. The animation ... ...but didn't harrass us to take part in games constantly - fully appreciated we were there to rest. Despite a sign asking people not to reserve sunbeds they did, but there was an ample supply around the pool and the lifeguards did get more from the hotels private beach if more were needed. With four bars, a restaurant and a "snack bar" there was no shortage of things to eat and drink. Outside of the hotel - the shop keepers can be very persistent and ...
