Great customer service
Review of Melia El Mouradi Palace, Port El Kantaoui by
isawilda
Advantages: Quiet location, direct access to beach
Disadvantages: Quiet for children
This hotel is located a few minutes walk from the harbour and shops in Port El Kantaoui. The hotel is impressive and the stafff are lovely. Prices are reasonable, but if you drink whisky, take your own from duty free as the whisky is very expensive (£5 per glass) Also some of the drinks are locally produced, and the tunisian bars often serve schnapps instead of vodka. You are advised on arrival that tunsian dinars must be exchanged on departure at ... ...to sterling for you at better rates than the airport. Food is brilliant, they serve miniature danish pastries at the breakfast buffet and their is plenty of choice both at breakfast and dinner. Out and about in Tunisia - really look at any leather goods you are buying and they are often not what they appear to be. Try buying at the state run shops as they guarantee their goods. WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL ...

Brilliant!
Review of Occidental Allegro Riviera, Port El Kantaoui by
Ommanney
Advantages: Clean and Friendly
Disadvantages: Not on the beach
Brilliant!!!! Perfect!!!! The best holiday we've ever had!!!!
We were a little worried as this was the first time we has been to Tunisia and last Oct we had to be taken to Hospital in Majorca. No worries this time!! The hotel was extremely clean (cleaning ladies every time you looked up). The food was brilliant and the kitchen staff kept checking its temperature. There was a wide range to try and plainer food and lots of salads if you didn't want ... ...told that the hotel had purified water for the fruit and veg.
The main areas of the hotel are wonderful with lots of marble to help keep it cool. The staff are all very attentive and polite.
When we were there the hotel was starting its winter refurbishment, and when a room became empty the furniture and doors where removed. This was a little disconcerting but gave us a chance to have a noise and see what the rooms where going to be like. Very ...

The Hotel Royal Kenz, Tunisia
Review of Royal Kenz Hotel, Port El Kantaoui by
micksheff
Advantages: Very Clean, Good Food
Disadvantages: A Fair Distance From The Main Resort
The Hotel Royal Kenz in the Resort of Port El Kantaoui in Tunisia was recently my Home for 7 nights between the 2nd and 9th July 2006. The Holiday itself was a last minute booking but the Girl at the Travel Agent's said that She had stayed at this Hotel and that it was superb.
The price for the total package, including Flights and transfers was incredibly cheap at just under £200 Half Board for 7 nights and so the booking was made.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
... ...We stayed at the Royal Kenz on a Half Board basis and Breakfast and Evening Meals were served in a large Dining area downstairs. Breakfast was served between 6.30am-10am, we were on the second sitting between 8.30 - 10am.Evening Meals were served between 6pm-9pm, again we were on the second sitting between 8-9pm, which if I am honest was a little bit too late.
On your first visit to the Dining area you are given a dedicated Table, which you keep ...

Worth a Visit!
Review of Occidental Allegro Abou Sofiane, Port El Kantaoui by
DameKelly
Advantages: All inclusive, plenty to keep you occupied, or just for chilling out.
Disadvantages: Music and PA system around the pool were, at times, too loud.
We returned from our holiday Sunday. It was lovely. The drive from the airport to the hotel resembles Beirut in parts, but please don't be put off. The Abou Sofiane could do with a little TLC on the decor in parts but was kept extremely clean. The food in the restaurant was good and plentiful - which made it all the more baffling why some people chose to push in line instead of waiting! all the staff were helpful and extremely friendly. The animation ... ...but didn't harrass us to take part in games constantly - fully appreciated we were there to rest. Despite a sign asking people not to reserve sunbeds they did, but there was an ample supply around the pool and the lifeguards did get more from the hotels private beach if more were needed. With four bars, a restaurant and a "snack bar" there was no shortage of things to eat and drink. Outside of the hotel - the shop keepers can be very persistent and ...

Well worth a visit
Review of Imperial Marhaba Hotel, Port El Kantaoui by
Maylie
Advantages: Value, food, weather
Disadvantages: Needs a lick of paint, location...
...a week in the RIU Imperial Marhaba in Port El-Kantaoui.
The accomodation was on a half-board basis and the initial impression upon entering the hotel is 'wow' with a huge marble lobby and cooling air-con. However, for a '5-star' hotel, the rooms do not back this up. Although clean and spacious, they have the impression of needing a re-fit and a lick of paint; it should be stressed that there were no issues with comfort or service here.
Food at ... ...functional on only two and it is obviously infectious as the hotel next door had the same problem!
All in all though, a great value holiday. Tunisia seems to be cheap at the moment and if you are looking for a sun-seeking holiday, the Imperial Marhaba comes highly recommende. ...
