I think if you like St. Paul's you will also like the Port of Liverpool building.

On all my visits to Liverpool I have never tired of visting the waterfront and gazing at these fine buildings. I am hard pushed to think of a waterfront in Britain that can match the grandeur of Liverpool. Cardiff Bay is being regenerated but frankly I dont think it can match that of " The Pool" So many ill informed critics dismiss Liverpool as a bit of a run down has been but a few hours actually spent at the Pier Head and the other grand sites in Liverpool would do wonders to combat ignorance of this great city's architectural heritage which has few equals in England.
Advantages: Location in the heart of the city Disadvantages: can be expensive so make use of offers
door to the three most impressive buildings on the Liverpool waterfront known as "the three graces". The Royal Liver building, built in 1911 and allegedly Britain's first skyscraper. It houses Britain's biggest Electric clock built to be precise so mariners could be assured of its accuracy. The Cunard Building where transatlantic passengers booked their voyages and the Port of LiverpoolBuilding (formerly known as the Dock Office built in 1907. A short walk past these three is the Albert Dock which is now a retail and leisure complex with some good restaurants, the Tate Modern Museum and the Maritime museum. Any way I don't want to be getting into trouble with review guides this is supposed to be about the hotel. (But all the above are within 400 metres of the hotel's front door so I think this is relevant). It is also only 10 ...
Advantages: Wonderful, timeless, building. Disadvantages: Difficult to think of any
Long before I had ever visited Liverpool the building I strongly associated with the port city was the Royal Liver building. This splendid piece of architecture featured as the opening to the TV comedy, The Liver Birds, which was an enormously popular show in the UK.
Since then my early association has been reinforced. On every visit I make to Liverpool now I musy go to the pierhead and see the three great buildings there, including the Royal Liver. I agree with the poet Roger McGough when he says the Liverpool waterfront at Pier Head is one of the greatest waterfront views anywhere.
What is remarkable about the Royal Liver building is that it looks as solid as a rock, although built years ago it also looks very modern, and it is completely the right building in the right place. On top of it are the liver birds-the symbol of the city- so ...

renaissance and contemporary pieces on display. The entrance to the gallery portrays - on either side - statues of Raphael and Michelangelo.
* Lime Street Station - The station was built in 3 phases during the 1800's and incorporates a train shed, which was the largest in the world at the time. It was also the first shed in which iron was used throughout.
* The Royal Liver Building - Built in the early 1900's the building stands proud on the banks of the River Mersey and is known collectively, with the Cunard and Port of Liverpoolbuildings, as one of the 3 graces. The building is now world famous as a beacon of the city, along with the mythical Liver Birds perched on top of the domed clock towers. The building is without rival in the England, and is one of the earliest examples of concrete reinforced multi-storey construction, which would ...
