Advantages: Centrally located, great staff, great apartments. Disadvantages: None
...Playa Del Ingles in Gran Canaria.....what a place! i love it there, even though i've only ever been twice in my whole life if i could afford to go every year this is the place i'd go, well here and Salou ;)
I recently went to PDI (short for Playa Del Ingles) in July 2007 for 2 weeks, with my young daughter who's 6 and my mum (don't ask lol), we were booked into the Jardin DelSol appartments, obviously i did abit of research beforehand as i like to know what to expect when traveling with my daughter and the reviews i read were ok, like with most reviews you'll get some great ones and some not so great, where ever you stay it all depends on the person and what you yourself make of the place, but here's my 2 pence worth anyway.
It was roughly a 15 minute coach ride, possibly abit faster if your in a taxi from the airport in Las...

Advantages: Good for Children Disadvantages: Too far from resorts
...Holiday Village,Benalmadena-Costa delsol,
stayed 2 weeks from 14 july 2007
Flight
2 and a half hours with First Choice was short and on time so really good as I hate flying!!
Transfer
From Malaga airport it takes about half an hour to transfer to the hotel, it is on the outskirts of Benalmadena.
Check-in
If you fill out the registration form on your transfer it is quick and easy. The staff were curtious and pleasant at all times.
Hotel set half way between Benalmadena and Fuengirola and not good for a stroll into either, its too far from both ,catch a bus!
The Living Room
Well this was my first let-down, as before we went away we had heard there was building work going on at the back of the hotel and also at the beach club where most of the pools are located. Hearing this I called into to my First Choice shop...

.... Taxi services were quite good too, but be careful they don't rip you off, we did experience threatening behaviour a couple of times in cabs we flagged down.
In Asuncion itself don't miss visiting the government buildings and the palace - you can't miss them they are the wealthiest looking buildings in the city!
Also go to Mercado 4 the market - very smelly, but amazing, very south american. Another interesting visit is to the Botanical gardens which are just like a big park, but inside is the Natural History museum which is a must if you aren't sqeamish! The museum consists of 4 rooms of stuffed animals and jars of pickled animals and animal parts uugggh. Beware of the toilets in the Botanical gardens as they really pong!
If you want western shopping in Asuncion visit Shopping delSol where there's a Burger King, Benneton and other...
