==Porthmadog, Wales==

I first went there a few years ago after being recommended to go as the beach close by called Black Rock Sands would be brilliant to take the dogs on.
It's brilliant as Black Rock beach is a drive on beach and dogs are welcome all year round on certain parts of the beach.
It is kept clean and it's patrolled by lifeguards to looks after everyone and make sure they are safe. The waters clean for a UK beach and warm in the summer.
There is a small charge for getting on the beach at holiday seasons but it isn't very much and well worth it for a day on the beach.
It's also good late in the evening when everyone else has gone home to just have a drive across the beach.

In the town itself there is a variety of shops, cafés and various other things to look at including the steam railway that goes across some of the lovely welsh countryside.
There are cash machines readily available and a handy petrol station at either end of the town, also a big Tesco ideal for buying BBQs to take onto the beach or a snack lunch.

At night the town is rather dead and quiet but it is just a little seaside town not based around it's night life making it less commercial and a nice place for a quiet break away.

There are lots of places to stay in the local area, I have stayed in one just on the road to the beach that was a lovely B&B with friendly staff and great service including a lovely full English breakfast in the morning. Some of the B&Bs will be more expensive within the holiday season but laterooms is always a brilliant place to book such places as you can get them for a lot cheaper, if you google late rooms they have a website where you can find cheap accomadation.
There are also camping facilities down near the beach that has large areas for camping in, so weather you wanted to camp or stay in a B&B you can have the choice at Porthmadog.

I would defiantly recommend it as a place to visit as either a day out or even for a weeks holiday as there are also other towns and places in the local area that are just a short drive away that are defiantly worth a weeks visit to go round and see them all.

Every time I have been I've enjoyed myself and will definitely be going again in the summer.

Hope this review helps anyone thinking about Porthmadog as a get away location.
