Porto Colom is a quiet little village inhabited by about 400 people. The weird thing is, you will find that everyone is either elderly or an infant. There is a lack of teenagers to be found during the week but they come out in swarms on a Friday and Saturday night to venture down to Zona 3-2, the local Spanish nightclub, of which the owner and the bar staff are very nice to look at.
Most of the bars are situated at a central location, ... ...the Harbour. The fact that Porto Colom can probably be covered by foot in 30 minutes means you have time to scope out the best places for yourself.
The hotels in the area are great. There's not a bad thing to say about any of them. The rooms are clean and trust me I saw a fair few during my time living out there. Everything is clean and nobody can do enough for you. It's good to get onside and friendly with the hotel staff as they ... more

Most of the bars are situated at a central location, midway between the harbour and the beach. In terms of value, the Scottish Pub is probably the best and the owner is a laugh a minute. He can be a little crude but he's harmless really and has a good selection of music he blasts out. A word of warning though, this place does get raided by the police because they don't have music licencing laws and continually break them by playing loud music. On of the nicer bars in terms of atmosphere and surroundings is La Luna. Try and check out their regular themed moon parties. They always fetch a crowd so you have to get there early if you want a seat. The most expensive bar is Boccachica. This bar has a fab range of cocktails but seems to charge double what everyone else does. It's a nice bar to sit outside on the terrace and watch the world go by as it is situated on the main road and so you see everyone walking to and from the beach. If you are looking for something a bit more wild, you may want to drive down to the larger bar owned by the same people, which is on the route to Calas De Mallorca. Here you have pole dancing to entertain you amongst other things.
In regards to food, you cannot beat Mar Blau. It is a fab restaurant overlooking the harbour with seating indoors and out. The specials change every few days and so there are always alterations to the menu. I would avoid the grotty chinese underneath them as they have a bad habit of smoking over the food as they are preparing it and the kitchen backs on to where the bins are kept. There is nice family run pizza joint which is very similar to Pizza Express just across the road though and a choice of greasy spoons in the plaza access route is to the left of Mar Blau if you are facing the Harbour.
It's good to get onside and friendly with the hotel staff as they have the cheapest internet availability, can arrange an array of tours especially if you get in with the tour reps (also to be found in the Scottish pub, due to lousy wages).
There are a couple of supermarket and you can probably get most of the supplies you need although the quality in Spain leaves much to be desired. Better products are found 2 hours away on two buses, in Palma. However there is a bus almost every hour and so you could plan to get into town and back again.
The harbour is a great focal point but hardly anything actually happens there. It's just a nice quiet spot to sit and watch the boat tours pull in twice a day. More fun can be found at the beach although it is the size of a postage stamp and at the top of the hill (All right for those of you staying in Club Cecelia/ Cecelia Apartments. Somewhere at the top of the hill is an English nightclub, but I never did find it. The waters are nice and clear though, so you can't really complain. The little cafe closest to the beach also does the best chicken and the best ice-cream.
There are several places of solitude you can flock to although they all end up on a cliff edge, one of the nicer places is the cliffs opposite La Luna. at the back of the facing hotel. This is a place where you can make of your holiday what you will. You could end up here on an 18-30s holiday but you could just as easily take the kids. Porto Colom offers something for everyone, although for the younger generation, you may want to get use to the taxis simply because Cala D'Or and Callas De Mallorca are within a 10 minute drive and are more populated areas.
Probably the best thing about the village is the fact that it is one of the best places in the world to learn how to dive. There are a range of training courses available and tend to be very popular with the Cecelia visitors.
What ever it is you want from your holiday, you won't be disappointed. This is probably the most friendly place I have visited.
Across the road from the beach, next to a restaurant, large pool, close to the Magaluf nightlife
There are none...unless yuo flood the bathroom, in which case you are likely to flood your whole floor because the front doors don't meet the ground a (*)
