PALMEIRA RESTAURANT PORTO Where Size matters

Advantages: Good service, Large Portions, and tables.
Disadvantages: Closed on Sundays.

...take a name. This concerned us a bit, after all its Saturday are they that slack they just say turn up, did not seem a good sign. Need not have worried, when we entered our table was ready, there were also two large parties expected as tables were laid for 10 and 12, other tables were already occupied by locals out for the evening, a good sign for us. How majestic can Majestic be?

Advantages: Old, refined, ornate art deco building with very freindly staff.
Disadvantages: Small toilets, but very clean.

...those and you see the Majestic for all it’s glory. The shinning glass with gold lettering stating “The Majestic” ornate cherubs and garlands and this is on the outside. What a feast when you walk inside. On the top of the walls along either side are ornate heads of what can only be described as Father Christmas and his wife. ...twice whilst there, both the Majestic and the cake cabinet. The almond tart is just heaven on a plate. A cup of chocolate costs 2-25 euro, so not a lot and as I say just sit and watch the world and his wife come and go, the seats are very rarely empty for long, if at all. People just wait to be seated and served. I doubt if anything has changed here since the 1920’s. We would recommend as a well worth visit. ...
