LUXURY AND CLASSIC!! Advantages: Location, decoration and design, service, etc. Disadvantages: none... ...their lobby and exterior. Hotel Palacio Estoril is different. Its room are very well decorated, with unequalled furniture and design. My room was a double room. It is well equipped but it still has a lot of space. The quality of housekeeping was also great. Unlike other hotels that they do the best only for the first night; here, they did everything perfect for both nights I stayed. You'll be surprised for the number of pillow on the bed (actually, ... ...I can sleep), the weight of the wooden chair (seriously, a little bit too heavy), amount and varieties of bathroom supplies. Rating: 10 out of 10 THE PRICE Well, what kind of price do you think is suitable for this historic 5-star hotel? I was not in the surprise that its official room rate stated the range from 320euro (single room - off season) to 530euro (suite - on season). the worse, there is overbooking Advantages: none Disadvantages: cleanliness, service, overbooking This hotel have an awful service, starting with the breakfast, that is horrible, and the cleanliness: towels are broken, blankets are dirty and the swimmingpool's toilets are so dirty that is better avoid to go into. Moreover the recepcion's service is horrible and painful. I'm going to tell my situation: we arrived to the hotel, here we was assisted for a miss, who told us that the hotel had a problem with the pipings and we had a book in other ... ...asked where was the other hotel but we didn't have answer. When we arrived to the other hotel we realiced that this hotel was too far, and there wasn't transport near to go to the beach, and to go to lisbon. We decided to go to the beach by taxi, because we didn't have other option. When we return to the hotel we asked if they are going to pay the taxi's price but the denied to paid us. A nice hotel subject to noise at night Advantages: Clean good sized rooms. Efficient staff. The cold buffet breakfast Disadvantages: The hot breakfast dishes and noise from the bar opposite A modern and comfortable hotel with good sized clean rooms and an excellent bathroom. It is located 5 minutes from the marina and 15 minutes from the centre. The best beach is a further 10 minute walk away. A good swimming pool with free sunbeds. Breakfast is plentiful with a good choice which can be categorized in 2 parts. Cold buffet is superb, The hot food is moderate. The scrambled eggs were inedible and there was no fried eggs. The hotel was let down down by the location being opposite a beer garden that had live music until 1.30 many mornings which kept us awake. Good central location, nice apartments Advantages: Nice apartments near the centre Disadvantages: Distance from the beach. Rubbish swimming pool The Alvormar Apartments are in a quiet but central location 5 minutes from the centre where the restaurants and shops are situated. The beach is 11 minutes in the other direction. Bus stop and taxi rank are 2 minutes away as is a large supermarket. Nice spacious apartments with fridge,kettle, microwave , television and telephone. Up there Advantages: Location, style, welcome, comfort, facilities, food, value Disadvantages: None, except to those who might prefer swankiness and flunkeys ...in the case of the Casa do Visconde at Chanceleiros, I shall definitely want to go again. My stay there was among the most enjoyable I’ve had anywhere, and I’ve stayed in a lot of places. This judgement does need to be put in the context that I have a slightly individual taste in hotels, tending to prefer the small and independent to the large and chain-corporate.
