La Paz, fascinating city high in the Andes

Advantages: stunning location, interesting people
Disadvantages: Car fumes and general pollution

foetus. The market is off Saganaga calle at Linares. The second market which is definitely worth a visit is the local feria up in El Alto (the poor and indigenous part of town, technically a city in its own right). Colectivos going up to El Alto can drop you at the feria which gives a more local slice of life for regular citizens of the town. La Paz is not a particularly unsafe city but normal precautions apply and be careful at the markets for pickpockets. The Iglesia de San Fransisco and it's plaza form the centre piece of the town and are good for people watching and watching life go on around you. The Museo San Fransisco is an interesting look at the history of the church and through it the early inhabitants of the city and its development. The second museum worth going to is the Museo del Coca which is small but informative on all things ...

Review of La Paz

Parque de La Paz Hotel Review.

Advantages: Excellent location and fantastic value for money. Highly recommended.
Disadvantages: Nothing stands out as being an issue.

Please bear in mind that Holidays in Tenerife are usually aimed at the 18-30 age group. The Parque de La Paz hotel is located in Playa de las Americas on the south of the Island. It is situated nearby a supermarket and a mere 400m from the wonderful beaches. Tenerife's reputation certainly goes before it and I found many of my ideas surrounding the island were wrong. It is true that Tenerife accomodates a large number of english tourists, however, i felt that part of the culture of the island remained in tact and the standards were certainly not low. As for the hotel i thought it was excellent value for money. As a £200 package holiday I felt the rooms were a great standard. The rooms were a good size with a lovely balcony and all the appliances you need. The rooms are cleaned daily by a cycle of friendly maids. Despite having a large ...

Review of Hotel Parque de La Paz, Tenerife

A Fumble In The Dark In Lima

Advantages: Clean and adequate
Disadvantages: Forgettable, in a business district, frequent power cuts

The Posada del Inca is a medium sized 4* hotel located in a deathly quiet upper class residential street in the business district of San Isidro, one of Lima's finest neighbourhoods. Surrounded by some of the most expensive real estate in the Peruvian capital, the hotel is in walking distance of the ultra-fashionable beach-side neighbouring suburb of Miraflores, and within a car ride of the decaying splendour of the colonial old town. The international airport is a 25 minute drive away, most easily undertaken in a taxi to avoid multiple bus changes. I stayed here for two nights in January 2006, on a bed and breakfast basis. FACILITIES On entering the hotel, guests are greeted by a marble decored reception area located in the centre of an unremarkable glass-fronted open plan lobby. To the left was a plain multi-purpose restaurant ...
