Advantages: Good location. Clean. Disadvantages: Need to take a course in customer service
I was very excited to go to this Pousada as we had planned this for a long time as there is so much in the surrounding area to see.
On arrival we found parking to be a problem and almost none existent. We had to park down the road and carry our own luggage to reception.
At reception, although friendly, we had to wait a while to be attended to.
The rooms were clean and although small, were adequate. The bathrooms have been modernized, however grouting and tiling not done very well. Beds comfortable.
Breakfast was included and a large variety of breads, cheeses etc available. However, the service was appalling. It was self service however one had to request certain items such as coffee etc from the waiters. Again, trying to attract the attention of the waiters took time. When we were served coffee it was like dishwater ...
Advantages: Modern and clean Disadvantages: I do not know
Florianopolis is a modern city with nice beaches. You can also visit the town around Praca 15 de Novembro. During Brazilian summer, it can be a bit expensive to find accommodation. The area around Rua Consilheiro Mafra has a few of cheap places. For the food you can try ?Macarronada Italiana? for Italain food in Avenida Rubens de Arruda Ramos. Many people stop only at Florianopolis and then go to Ilha de Santa Catarina. This is an even better places to go to the beach. A very famous beach is Praia dos Ingleses, on the East Coast. If you have the time, I also recommend you go to Blumenau, which looks more Germany than Brazil to me! ...

Advantages: Good and stable Disadvantages: outdated
I remember when I first used dos and it looked daunting at first and the fact that it was mainly text based made it quite hard to learn, but with the great help system every command could be explained. Yes it was slow but that did not really matter as it could still do a lot of neat stuff.
With this came a lot of utilities like Q-Basic which was a good programming language for beginners as it had a help menu that made it easy to pick up. There is also a small text editor and a lot of commands to learn.
DOS is a bit like the BASIC programming language, lots of commands but makes sense in the end. Once you get good at using it you can speed up its use and make it a good stable base. I have used the older DOS 4 and this new OS is much better.
It is a great stable system, (unlike windows) and is very rewarding to learn ...
