~DARLING HARBOUR~
At the AQUARIUM I literally come face to face with some pretty impressive sharks in the Open Ocean Oceanarium. This is where you get to walk through the water via glass tunnels and this is the last place you get to on your tour around the Aquarium. Other draws in this place are the Salties or Saltwater Crocodiles (one species of animal that will attack man without any provocation), the very impressive Great Barrier Reef display, seals, fairy penguins and fish like the Barramundi and the huge Murray Cod. The A$23 entrance fee was worth every cent and I spent several hours there.
For POWERHOUSEMUSEUM think Science Museum in London! Costing A$10 admittance the displays here I thought were excellent. Whilst you can only ever see a fraction of what the museum has accumulated during it’s...

Advantages: A very large mummy collection. Also a human cell to wander around in - It's brilliant for kids! Disadvantages: None
...;Mitochondria are the powerhouse of cells!!” so if you don’t want your children repeating this to you all day, which they definitely will of you’re not quick, get them out of there once one repeat cycle has finished! One final point about this bit; although this is visibly aimed at children, it made me wish I’d come to visit before I’d done my Biology GCSE exam as it just hits home what a cell is full off and what each little thing within a cell does.
Nature: This is quite a large and old section of the museum, which is divided into two rooms. The first room contains a lot of stuffed animals, some exotic, from various parts of the world. Although the display is obviously very old and hasn’t been added to for a few years it still isn’t very appealing to animal lovers and it reminded me of hunters...

Advantages: within easy reach of the central station Disadvantages: none
...The powerhouse in waterloo street in the so called "pink triangle" is the only gay night club in newcastle, there you can have a great night out and dance your socks off, there is a selection of "cheap and cheerful" food also on offer, drinks are not too bad either depending on which night you go. There are other gay orientated pubs in the area such as The Village, which is part of the Powerhouse, The Barking Dog,The Yard,Rockies Bar, Heavens above and the newly opened Strings.
If you feel peckish after clubbing you can also visit Sanjays fish and chip shop which is opposite the Powerhouse and its open until the early hours of the morning....

...In May 2004 I stayed for 6 days in Kowloon after 4 days in Hong Kong Island. What a contrast! HKI is where the money is and Kowloon is the powerhouse that supplies all the workers that keep HK Islanders prosperous.
Kowloon is the place to shop if your budget is anything less than millionaire. There are numerous shopping malls including the Yue Hwa chain of Chinese retail stores that stock genuine Chinese goods at bargain prices. I bought small original Chinese paintings for less than £2 each.
I stayed at the Ramada on Chatham Road South (yes - a lot of the street names will be very familiar to you). Basic, but cheap (£40/night) and clean with friendly, helpful staff. Central to all that is happening in Kowloon.
Kowloon is all about shopping. I have never seen so many shops per square mile anywhere. High fashion, jewellery, made...
