The Charles Bridge
Review of Charles Bridge, Prague by Jamie73

Advantages: Free entrance, beutifully built, historic attraction
Disadvantages: Can get very busy

Charles Bridge is probably one of Pragues most recognised landmarks. For many years, Charles Bridge was the only way to cross the River Vltava that flows through the middle of the City. Nowadays there are many bridges connecting Old Town Prague and the New Town but there is still something very special about the Charles Bridge that makes it stand out from all the others. Charles Bridge is an old stone gothic bridge which is lined with numerous statues ...
...was commissioned by Charles IV, after whom the bridge was named, in 1357. Today, the Charles Bridge can only be crossed on foot, but with it being a very popular attraction in Prague, it is literally crammed with crowds of people all day long. There is no fee for crossing the bridge but tourists are invited to walk up the tower of the Charles Bridge, at a cost of about £2.50 each. We walked up the tower and inside we were shown a video about the ... Read review

Star City Cinema
Review of Aero by supergirl4u

Advantages: great popcorn
Disadvantages: a little too plain....

Star City is the best (and only) cinema in Swan River + Benito, where I am from. BUT that doesn't mean it is not great! It is a great cinema, and the people there aren so nice! And as a plus (that extra little oomph) they have great candy + chocolate (which are my favorite food groups) such as (my personal favorite) almost every kind of Aero, Coffie Crisp, Kit Kat and Skittles. They also have M'n'm s, After Eight, Mars, Snickers, and more! The seating ... Read review

With a thousand dollars we'd be millionaires
Review of Tesco (Prague) by roons_y

Advantages: 4 pence bottles of beer says it all
Disadvantages: Fighting old women for a Tesco trolley

...a thousand spires had a Tesco worried me. I had come here for the culture but I was now shamefully excited about the fact that I was about to be able to eat Crunchy Nut Cornflakes again. The fact that they were about half the price you'd pay in the UK was also an interesting distraction. I then noticed a special offer of 330ml bottles of beer at 4 pence each and my flabber was well and truly gasted. With a quick burst of enthusiasm I was off running ...
...weekend you got to the Tesco in Prague there are two queues at each checkout. One waiting to purchase items and one waiting to collect trolleys off people who'd just finished their shopping! Why the store experienced a trolley shortage I couldn't understand but it didn't detract from the fact that after three weeks of travelling around Europe on a shoestring, Prague's Tesco is a dream come true. Everyday items at a fraction of the cost huge and ... Read review

Good Op - er - a review on Prague State Opera
Review of State Opera by MAFARRIMOND

Advantages: Neo-classical architecture and wonderful entertainment.
Disadvantages: Steps leading to entrance

...a performance of the Prague State Opera. As is usually my way, I researched what was on and how much the tickets were way prior to our visit. Prague State Opera has a comprehensive and easy-to-navigate website http://www.opera.cz. So having discovered what was playing whilst we were to be there, it was a decision as to whether to book online or try for tickets at the time. After Vienna and finding that we could pick up tickets from the touts for ...
...when you arrive. Prague State Opera stands in Wenceslas Square opposite to the National Museum. According to the maps, it should be very easy to find with the metro station, Museum, being situated only minutes away. However, at the time of our visit, some sort of road works was taking place making the Opera House difficult to reach. The Prague Opera House opened on 5th January 1888 as a German theatre built to rival the Czech National Theatre. The ... Read review

Travelling through Prague, Ruzyne
Review of Prague Airport by Stenat

Advantages: ease of access and egress.
Disadvantages: potentially costly taxis from the airport

An easy airport to use, very quick to move through both on arrival and departure. Easy transport links into the city centre. The most cost effective being public transport at the princely cost of 20kc for 75 to 90 minutes of travel on buses, trams and the Metro. Possible to get almost anywhere in the city within an hour. Taxi drivers may charge around 200kc for a transfer into the centre. The 119 bus to Dejvicka is my favoured route, from Dejvicka ...
...where you can change lines at either Mustek or Museum if necessary. Ruzyne is a fairly small airport and unusually close to the city centre for easyjet, but small makes for user friendliness and on departures the departures board and signage is fairly extensive. Occasional trouble experienced by check in staff with reliability of computer system for check in. With check in delayed for 25 minutes on my return flight. ... Read review
