March on up to the top of the hill....
Advantages: Amazing views of Prague once you reach the top! Disadvantages: The staircase made me feel dizzy.
Petrin Hill Petrin is a hill in the centre of Prague, and it takes some climbing to get to the top! It rises 130m above the left bank of the Vltava River and it's covered in parks, making a great site for a lovely walk, and it's a favoured recreational area for the people of Prague. You can see the hill from Charles Bridge and on the top of Petrin Hill in Prague you may notice an Effiel Tower like tower at the very top. This is the Petrin Hill ... ...it's on the top of Petrin Hill it does have almost the same altitude as it's French lookalike. It was built in 1891 and was used as not only an observation tower, but also as a transmission tower. Today though this tower is a good tourist attraction as it offers spectacular views of Prague as despite it only being 60m high, it's setting on the top of the hill does give it extra dizzying height. On a clear day it is possible to see the highest peak ...

Dreams, Reality and Nightmares
Advantages: Insight into the history of the city, cheap entry Disadvantages: Alot of information, can be a lot to digest easily
...visit. Even more conveniently, the Museum was situated on the same road as our hotel and a mere five minute walk away. It also has great opening hours, meaning a visit is possible in the early evening. Finally the irony of the fact that they give their directions as being sandwiched in between a McDonalds restaurant and a Casino was not lost on us. It was not however in our DK guide book of the city, and so is one of those places that could easily ... ...The purpose of the museum is to portray an insight into life during the period of occupation, which lasted from just after the second world war until that day in 1989. Admission costs an affordable 180 CZK which is a fraction over £1 and is good value for money given the information and artefacts it contains. As my title suggests - the main theme of the museum is to portray Communism - as the Dream, The Reality, and the Nightmares. While there are ...

How Big???
Advantages: So many animals to see, zoo helps with conservation work Disadvantages: Some of the larger animals needed bigger enclosures
...definitely wanted to visit was Prague Zoo.
I am still undecided on how I feel about zoo's as I believe wild animals should be allowed to be wild. One of the reasons we were keen to visit Prague zoo was because there are heavily involved in conservation work and I believe that this is vital to help many of the animals which are becoming endangered. To rebuild or not to rebuild - thats the question
Advantages: A very different kind of church building from the rest in Prague Disadvantages: A bit artificial
...sham and hollow pretence.
So Bethlehem Chapel in Prague kindled a very special sense of excitement in me when I heard that I could visit it during my visit to Prague last month.
Its Distinctive Purpose

"Betlemska kaple", as it is known in Czech, is not one of those fantastic ornate and very beautiful Gothic structures for which the city is rightly famed. Rather its fame lies in its origin and distinctive purpose. Its ... ...as his Christian service.
Bethlehem Chapel, then, was constructed to serve the simple purpose of giving the people of Prague the opportunity to worship God in their own language, and hear the Bible taught with power and relevance.

German control over Czech affairs in Hus's day, ensured that conflict with authority would soon arise.
He found himself excommunicated by one of the two popes in Rome, ...

♫ Let's Go Barbie ♫
Advantages: Amusing, fascinating collection of Barbie dolls. Disadvantages: Boring for small children. All toys in cabinets.
...guidebook suggested the zoo, the toy museum and the hall of mirrors. We managed to do all three of these whilst there. It also suggested going to a marionette puppet theatre show, but having seen a selection of these puppets in shop windows, we decide against this. Believe me, the puppets are enough to scare the wits out of adults, hooked nosed evil witch like faces and the like.
On the first day we climbed up the steep hill to have a look at the ... ...down the hill was the Toy Museum. It is housed in the former Count's Chambers of Prague Castle. We thought maybe we'd have a look inside and see if it would interest our kids. A group of school children were just leaving and the place suddenly was empty. We decided it would be good for a look around so we paid our entry price of 160 Czech crowns (equivalent to around £4 for six of us). The individual prices were 40 Kc for adults and 20 Kc for children.
