Prague, or Praha as the locals call it, is an excellent city to go to. I find it to be the best city I have been to, and the most mystrious, most enchanting and most alluring. An important point would be that it is also one of the cheapest. But that's not trus in some areas of the city. For example, in the old town square, next to the astronomical clock, the prices match those of West German restaurants. And one should be careful of the currency exchanges, because their interest rate is extremely high. These are the licensed ones. It is better changing money at licensed money changers, since fake notes abound in Prague. But on a lighter note, I stayed at the Kollege Strahov, a university campus on top of the hill where there's a Czech imitation of the Eiffel Tower. It takes me about 15 minutes to walk from there to the city center, but it's worth every minute, in the park, enjoying the view of the city from above. Also, one should spend time walking around Prague, and especially on the Charles Bridge - Karlsbrucke - at night, because it is extremely romantic. In the day time, various hawkers and buskers sell their wares and/or play there. Very entertaining. There are also ferry rides along the river for those interested in seeing more of Prague. There are also many shows being put on at night by the various performing groups in Prague. My favourite was the Black Light theatre. Their tickets are usually sell out performances, so get it while you can. There are also over 100 museums in Prague to satisfy the cultural tourist, like the Museum of Torture - featuring various torture equipment - and the museum of toys among others. There are also internet cafes, so one can keep contact with friends around the world through email. Don't waste time surfing the internet because I think Prague is much more interesting than that. At every corner, something interesting is going on. And when Prague lights up for the night, it is beautiful. And with that Bohemian history and architecture, it looks more mystifying and beautiful indeed.
