Fantastic quality - fantastic prices
Review of Movenpick, Prague by oxoxallyoxox

Advantages: Too many to list - this was an experience
Disadvantages: Prices in the mini bar

I stayed in this hotel in December last year. My partner booked it as a birthday surprise. It is about 4 km outside of the main town. To start with this hotel is really luxurious - maybe a bit too much so for me. The hotel is split in 2 - there is the main hotel and there is the executive suite. To get to the executive suite you have to take an electric chair lift up. I didnt get a chance to try this out but to be honest I was a bit chicken. Everyone ...
...When we were brought to our room I was amazed at the size of it it was just huge. There was even a balcony where you could sit. Although it was snowing when we went and the balcony was just solid ice so we gave that a miss. The prices in the mini bar were crazy - it was 6 euro for a tiny bottle of water. However downstairs it was so so cheap. We went down on our first night and had dinner and snacks and LOTS of drinks - we were there for more than ... Read review

Short Stay or Long Stay?
Review of Ibis Praha City, Prague by RichardElse

Advantages: Hotel Chain, Excellent Staff, Location
Disadvantages: Not many but little things - Read Review

The hotel Ibis Praha City belongs to the Accor chain of Hotels which include many others such as Novotel. The decision was based generally because we had not visited Prague before and wanted the assurance of a Hotel Chain and a good location. The hotel is described as the Ibis Wencelas Square (which is 5 minutes walk from the hotel). Booked direct through the Ibis website we got a reservation with nothing to pay until we checked out of the hotel. ...
...right next door to the Ibis and is part of the same group of hotels. This enables people in the Ibis to take advantage of the facilities next door. A sauna, indoor pool and fitness centre are available for a charge. The two hotels have their own cars parked outside which provide a taxi service to various places. Here is a bit of advice, if you want to get in and around prague city centre then AAA taxis is a local taxi firm, they are very cheap, ... Read review

A good location if you get a substantial discount
Review of Ambassador, Prague by howlindawg

Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Customer Service

The hotel itself is well appointed and the rooms we saw were clean and spacious. There was a substantial choice of breakfast options available all of good quality. This is also one of the best locations in the city being only a few minutes stroll from most attractions and amenities. Our Booking was for a suite with a double bed however when we arrived we were shown to a room with 3 single beds in it. When I politely complained I was told by 2 members ...
...that I had not in fact booked a double. Luckily I had kept the original booking form with me and could prove my reservation. At that point a double room mysteriously became available although it was of inferior quality to the room we were originally allocated, being smaller and lacking air conditioning. At no point did I receive an apology for the error. Overall, while the staff were quietly efficient they seemed to take no pride in the quality ... Read review
