Fine Dining.

Advantages: Location, Ambience, Quality of Food, variety, Service
Disadvantages: none

The Kampa Park, part of the Kampa group of restaurants in Prague is one of the premier fine dining restaurant experiences in this fine city. The restaurant is situated in the lesser quarter, on the bank of the river and within a couple of minutes walk from the magnificent Charles Bridge. We hadn’t planned our visit in advance, in fact we had set out a little aimlessly, trying to find somewhere to eat – sometimes too much choice is harder than too ...
...be visiting Kampa Park for sure! http://www.kampagroup.com/en/ (there are six individual restaurants in the group, see website for information) I apologise for the quality of pictures – I only had my 1.3 megapixel camera phone with me - hopefully I captured something of the location! ...

DON GIOVANNI

Advantages: good food, good wine, nice place
Disadvantages: non

We have visited Prague a number of times and we just love the place the restaurant and beer are the best we have experienced and are rally cheap. We have visited Dom Giovanni 4 times in the last 18 months and every time had a fantastic meal. Set over looking the river and Charles Bridge the views really complement the food and service. The foundations for the success of this resurant is based on well sourced ingredients seasonal ingredients and ...
...around with ingredients this good. The menu offers risottos, fresh home made raviolis, tortalines, papiadlli, veal, venison fresh fish and shell fish straight out of the tank. The service is typically Italian smartly dressed service staff with laid back attitude creating a nice calm and relaxed feel about the place. Over all I would personal recommend this restaurant but do book a table as it can get quite busy as you can expect from a restaurant ...

Good Music + Good Beer = Good Times

Advantages: Great music and good beer, good atmosphere
Disadvantages: A little on the expensive side (for Prague)

...small cellar club features live music every night - jazz, bebop, swing and blues. The night we went there a leading Czech jazz trio called the Robert Balzar Trio were playing. The music was excellent and carried on long into the night. We especially enjoyed it when they invited a jazz pianist up on stage. The one criticism of U Maleho Glena would be that behind the musicians is a large soft-core pornographic image of a nineteenth century woman. However, ...
...much you will not notice it. One touch I rather liked were little signs on the table asking people to let the waitresses know if people on other tables are too noisy. We didnt have a problem with this at all, probably due to the notice reminding them to be quiet. The eponymous 'Little Glen' is Glenn Spicker, the American who apparently introduced bagels to Prague, and the person who opened this popular ex-pat hangout and jazz haunt in April 1995. ...

a very good meeting place

Advantages: fun, cheap, clean,
Disadvantages: mostly czech pop music

Kozicka is something between a bar and a pub near Old Town Square. kozicka means "little goat" and this is good to know, because there is a small statue of a goat in front of the pub, a good thing to find this place. To enter, you have to go downstairs and you get straight to the bar. But if you keep walking, you will find out, that this place is amazingly big (you actually walk in a circle). It is very hard to find a seat (not just on the weekend) ...
...between 20 and 40, couples, singles, students, businessman, artists, tourists, just everybody. If you enter, you might be a bit surprised, because it is one of the few pubs in Prague, where you get loud music. But they mostly play czech pop songs, which might be a bit strange for foreigners. The prices are very good. 30 KC (0,5pounds) for a beer, 100,- KC (2pounds) for a nice meal. They cook really nice, lots of different dishes, mostly western ...

Soundtrack of your childhood, with more beer

Advantages: Friendly, buoyant atmosphere. Cheap admission and drinks. 'The Final Countdown' - Trust me!
Disadvantages: If you detest the 80's, you might be a little put off. Not a place for showing off, so if you're a fashion victim, go to Mecca instead.

Why is Lucerna so popular? There are many clubs in Prague now, ranging from the veteran Radost Fx and Roxy, through to palaces of posing such as Mecca, right down to the meat markets of La Fabrique and Karlovy Lazne. Usually a good time can be had at any one of them - but then there's Lucerna on a Saturday night. It doesn't sound like an obvious recipe for success. Take an old music hall, fill it with a bunch of unhip but laid back Czechs, and plays ...
...pointed out - going to Lucerna is a little like being Bill Murray in 'Groundhog Day', the more you go, the more ways you find to exploit what's on offer. That is certainly true. I've been to Lucerna dozens of times over the past four years, and I swear they've hardly changed the order of the songs. But yeah - it just keeps getting better each and every time! The layout is simple - two bars on the dancefloor level serving cheap beer and spirits ...
