We stayed in this hotel in November last year. We did not book any accomodation in advance - in fact we only booked the flight less than 12 hours before we left. We booked the hotel through the Airport booking service when we arrived in Prague - and paid only (what is equivalent to) £25 a night for 2 people in a room. The hotel staf were great - the rooms all en-suite with shower etc. The standard of the rooms were excellent - very well maintained. The only slight downside is that it is not in the City Centre - but it is right on a tram line that goes direct into the City (about 2/3 minutes. I would recommend this hotel - especially to those on a budget.
Advantages: cheap, good network Disadvantages: taxi drivers will fleece you
...I recently went to Prague because I was unable to get a cheap flight from Vienna to London at such short notice. I will certainly return to Prague a lot wiser than before. The train ride to Prague from Vienna takes about 4 and a half hours, and is very comfortable, being a EuroCity train. However things change when you get to Prague, especially when you are wanting to make a flight, because your train has been held up.
The station which you arrive at in Prague from Vienna (Praha Holesovice) looks to be in the middle of nowhere. Indeed it can seem like this, especially if you arrive in late December, and it is after all the embodiment of most travellers grimmest nightmare. The reality is somewhat better. Rather than get fleeced by a dodgy cab driver, who will happily charge you CZK1000 (ca. £20) for a ride to Ruzyne airport (about 30...

Advantages: Beautiful, not too pricey, FUN! Disadvantages: Pickpockets, difficult to get change from shops/stalls!
...pleased overall with the service and value of this taxi service and tried to book it for our return journey but out hotel had a contract with a different taxi firm. However, this other firm provided us with the same service back to the airport, turning up promptly to ensure we had plenty time to spare. For those who are a bit more confident in the Czech language or perhaps students on a tight budget, there is a regular bus service into town from the airport - and this costs less than £1 I believe. It may not offer the same comfort but as it's a good few miles trip this option offers great value for money.
As long as you are able, the best way to get around Prague is on foot. The centre (Praha 1) does strech out quite a bit but there is plenty to see and do everywhere you look. And there is so much stunning architecture that it would be a waste...
