...cancelling a booking at 'The Premier Inn' - Cardiff West, to make sure you keep a Cancellation Reference until the date you previously made the booking date have passed!

Back in March, I provisionally made a booking, because I wanted tickets for a U2 gig @ the Millennium Stadium but unfortunately I only managed to get tickets for Sheffield Arena....So, come April when the venue was confirmed, I phoned The Premier Inn - Cardiff West ...
...bank for £212.00 from The Premier Inn - Cardiff West!! Straight away I phoned them to tell them what has happened and they say if I don't have a "Cancellation Number" then they can’t deposit my monies owed? I wasn't given a cancellation number and even if I did have a cancellation number I would not keep it for another two months thinking oh better keep that just in case they take payment?...No! No person in their right mind would do!

Unfortunately, I have to write a review to warn people when cancelling a booking at 'The Premier Inn' - Cardiff West, to make sure you keep a Cancellation Reference until the date you previously made the booking date have passed!

Back in March, I provisionally made a booking, because I wanted tickets for a U2 gig @ the Millennium Stadium but unfortunately I only managed to get tickets for Sheffield Arena....So, come April when the venue was confirmed, I phoned The Premier Inn - Cardiff West and spoke to a lady and requested she cancel my booking under the name of Tuson "Right Mr Tuson I have your booking in front of me & I will go ahead and cancel that for you" she replied, So I politely said over the phone "Thanks very much - Bye" I thought nothing else of it until this Morning I Received a Bank statement showing on the 24th August a payment was taken from my bank for £212.00 from The Premier Inn - Cardiff West!! Straight away I phoned them to tell them what has happened and they say if I don't have a "Cancellation Number" then they can’t deposit my monies owed? I wasn't given a cancellation number and even if I did have a cancellation number I would not keep it for another two months thinking oh better keep that just in case they take payment?...No! No person in their right mind would do!
I spoke to the manager Mr Gavin Mattinson who reiterated the same words as if he was reading off a script that he has said this many times before? He had no sympathy what so ever what had happened and basically I told him it is an error on your insufficient trained staff as a human error and he said no proof no money back....JUST LIKE THAT!!

I am fuming with how unprofessional I have been treated by such a Prestigious Company name.

I am currently involved with a Solicitor taking legal action against The Premier Inn Cardiff West & Mr Gavin Mattinson (Duty Manager) for his unprofessional approach towards a customer complaint.

I hope to post another review in the future & let you all know my outcome but in the meantime take heed of what has happened above and how easy it is for them to manipulate their customers!
