Some people would probably look down on a chain hotel like Premier Travel Inn and label it to be of poor standard or located 'always by a main road'.
However, they would be wrong.

On both of the occasions I have stayed at Premier Travel Inn (once at Chichester and once at Southsea), I have had very pleasant stays and the hotels have been very accessible on foot. I stayed at both hotels with my patner - neither one of us drives a car so we travelled around by train and bus and reached the hotels and nearby attractions with ease.
The location of Premier Travel Inn Chichester couldn't be better in my opinion. There's a fairly new leisure complex in the town, and the hotel is situated on this same site. The complex includes a cinema, bowling alley, restaurants and a sports centre. Quite a busy road surrounds the complex, however the hotel is very quiet inside and you wouldn't know that any of the things mentioned above were there. The hotel isn't right next to the attractions in the complex as there's also a large carpark separating one end from the other. The carparking is free. The main shopping part of Chichester and the train station is a mere five minute walk away if you arrive on foot.
Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted straight away - no waiting around. The check in was quite speedy, and you pay when you arrive just in case you want to make a quick departure on your leaving day. I think you can arrive from about 2pm, and you must leave by midday on the day of your departure.
We found and entered our room easily. There's no faffing about with keys to get into your room either - there's a simple swipe card and the door automatically locks when it shuts (so anyone without a card cannot enter).
The room was clean and modernly furnished. Decor was basic but it's what you expect from a chain hotel. Room comprised of kingsize bed, en-suite bathroom with bath/shower/wc/basin (towels included), telephone, freeview tv, desk, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, shower gel. There's a maid service that comes to make the bed and replace any used towels everyday too.
There's a pub-style restaurant adjoined to the hotel, but we didn't use this as we felt like visiting the town in the evening. However the food on the menu provided looked good and reasonably priced.
Breakfast is not included in the price of the room, which is disappointing. I would've thought they could at least offer cereals/toast with jam inclusive of the price. However if you would like breakfast they offer a 'full breakfast selection' (including hot and cold choices) for £7.50, or a 'continental buffet' (which I assume is cereals and toast) for £5.25. We found this much too expensive for what it is and so opted for a Mcdonalds breakfast within the complex!
The price per night is charged 'per room' and so in effect you could have a family of four sharing a family room for the same price as a single person staying in a single room. Prices are currently £56 a night for Monday - Thursday or £51 a night for Friday - Sunday.
Good value I think. Definately consider staying here if you don't mind the short walk into town. Probably a great place to stay with the kids due to the attractions on the complex and the family-friendly atmosphere. There's also a nice pond with boats and a small river going off it within walking distance too.
