<<<HOW TO GET THERE>>>
From junction 5 of the M180 take A180 towards Grimsby. The hotel is located on the the 2nd exit from the first roundabout on the A180. The hotel is on an industrial estate but is fairly easy to spot from the road.

The hotel has 59 rooms and prices are Monday- Thursday £59 per room per night and Friday-Sunday £52 per room per night.

We booked online and found the website easy to use and located the hotel we wanted very quickly. Credit card details were taken but no payment was taken until we arrived at the hotel. We also opted to take breakfast at the Beefeater which was next door to the hotel at an extra cost of £7.50 per person for a full English or £5.25 for a continental breakfast.

My husband ,daughter and I stayed here a few weeks ago when we were in Grimsby visiting family. We have stayed at Premier Inn's on several occasions before and find them to be basic but having everything needed for a short stay.

The free car park was situated at both the back and front of the hotel and was monitored by CCTV so no worries about safety. Reception was easily found and having already given our credit card details at the time of booking was a straightforward process of confirmation and handing over of the door key. It's quite a small but clean area with a drinks machine located in a little cubby hole next to the main door. Leaflets can be found here for various attractions in the area as well as directories giving details of all the Premier Inns in the country.The receptionist was a friendly and effecient young lady who also remembered us from a previous stay over a year ago.

There are two floors in this hotel but unfortunately no lifts. We were on the second floor. There were three sets of five steps with a wide landing after each set so you could have a breather after hauling your cases up! There are disabled and family rooms situated on the ground floor so no worries about access there. Once at the top of the stairs and through the heavy fire door was a long corridor with rooms on either side. The area was clean an uncluttered and we found our rooms easily.

<<<THE ROOM>>>
It was a proper key to open the door and we didn't encounter any problems . On going into the room the bathroom was situated on the right hand side with a bath and shower above. The showerhead was not moveable as it was fixed to the wall which made it a bit difficult for me to wash my hair but not a major hardship. Lux shower gel was supplied in a cannister on the wall beside the shower as well as small handsoaps on the sink unit. A large mirror above the vanity unit with a light and shaver socket completed the look. There was ample room for all our bit's and bob's to be set out on the vanity unit and the bathroom was clean and well maintained as was the room itself.

Clean white fluffy towels were laid out on the bed with extra ones on top of the wardrobe if needed along with spare pillows for the bed. The bed was kingsize and had crisp white sheets and duvet cover with a purple runner at the bottom of the bed. Despite being a bit on the bouncy side the bed was comfortable and we slept well.
Although it was quite chilly when we were in Grimsby (it's always cold there!) we were warm enough but there was an adjustable thermostat in the room if you wanted a bit more heat.

An open wardrobe with ample hanging space and shelves was situated on the lefthand side as you entered the room. Beside this was a long dressing table which housed the the kettle and tea/coffee supplies. There were only a couple of those little milk cartons but you could help yourself to replacements from the desk at reception as often as you liked. The portable telly was also situated on the dressing table and once fiddled with a bit gave a pretty good picture but only the basic 5 channels were available. Having recently read other Premier Inn reviews on here which stated their rooms had LCD tellys with freeview I would imagine eventually all the old fashioned ones will be replaced by these.There was a good light above the dressing table for doing my make-up and a nice comfy chair to sit on while I did it. A hairdryer was supplied but as I'd brought my own I can't say how powerful it was.

There was a good sized window in the room which allowed in a fair amount of light but the opening was very resticted so on the very rare occasions it is warm in Grimsby it wouldn't be an awful lot of use for cooling the room down The view wasn't anything to shout about as the hotel is situated on a small industrial estate and you either had a view of that or the carpark depending on which side of the hotel your room is. At the front of the hotel there are hedges and trees planted which help to obscure the busy road from view and I think it also helped cut down on traffic noise. I always have the window open at night and didn't hear a thing. Another benefit of being on an industrial estate is no drunks going by waking you up in the middle of the night! Beside the window was an armchair and small table. A quick look at our daughter's room confirmed it was exactly the same as ours but on the other side of the hotel with a view of the industrial estate.

We didn't encounter any noise from the industrial estate at all as it was mainly shops but there was also an Ambulance Station here which, during the day, the sirens often went off but at night it was quiet

The room was cleaned daily to a good standard and clean towels left if required as well as restocking of the tea/coffee etc. Housekeeping staff were discreet and there was no pressure to vacate the room so they could get in to clean it.

It says on the website WiFi is available for a small fee but as we didn't use it I can't say anything about it. An iron and ironing board are available from reception for a refundable deposit of £5.

We booked breakfast at the restaurant next door during our stay. For a very reasonable £7.50 you could eat as much as you wanted. A choice of fruit juices, cereals, yoghurts, croissants, muffins, porridge, fruit salad and toast were available from a help yourself buffet. The cooked breakfast consisted of sausages (vegetarian option also available), bacon, eggs fried, scrambled, poached or boiled, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms were cooked to order and you could ask for as much as you wanted. We really enjoyed our breakfast here. It was perfectly cooked and we didn't have to wait long either despite it being quite busy.

Evening meals were also available but on this occasion we didn't use the resaurant. However we have used it in the past and found a good selection of meals at a reasonable price with good size portions. An example of the meals available:

There are special set meal deals available from Monday to Thursday evening where two couses will set you back £9.95 or three courses for £11.99.
There is often a special offer on where up to two children aged 15 or under can eat breakfast for free with one full paying adult but as our daughter is well over 15 we had to pay full whack!

I was sitting outside the restaurant one evening when I saw a man in the carpark throwing what looked like bread onto the ground and within a few seconds a fox appeared shortly followed by two others. I had only seen foxes on the telly so I was enthralled by this and I could hardly believe it when one of them came within a few inches of me, stopped to look at me before scampering off to search for more bread. I assume the man must have worked at the hotel and did this regularly as the foxes came out as soon as they saw him. I know some people think of foxes as vermin but I thought they were lovely and thoroughly enjoyed watching them.

So in conclusion this hotel has everything needed for a short stay. It is clean, the staff friendly and efficient and the food good. All for a very reasonable price of £379.70 for the three of us for three nights including breakfast. We would definitely stay here again and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
