We stayed in this Premier Inn, which is attached to the Kilton Inn on a Saturday night. Our stay was extremely comfortable and pleasant.
Rooms We stayed in a double room on the ground floor. The rooms are decorated to a modern and good standard. In our room we had, a kettle, hairdryer, TV, heating controls, desk, bedside tables, chair, and a huge and very comfortable double bed. The linen and towels were plentiful and extremely clean. The bathroom was very basic, but everything that was needed was there. The layout of the bathroom could have been improved, with the toilet roll holder being on the opposite side of the bathroom to the toilet. The soap in the dispenser, took a lot of work to get out and once out was foamy and disappeared rather than lathered up in your hands. Apart from these minor issues, the room was furnished and cleaned superbly. I hope the walls of this particular hotel were thick as our 8 month old baby decided to scream for much of the night. We didn't hear anyone in our neighbouring rooms; however I am sure they probably heard us!!
Staff The lady behind the reception desk was extremely friendly and helpful, she went out of her way to help organise a travel cot, with herself and the manager of the attached pub organising to bring her own in for us to use. She was polite and asked whether the room was ok for us. She was the only staff member we saw. The waiters, waitresses and management in the attached Kilton Inn where breakfast and evening meals can be ordered were very friendly. We didn't stay for breakfast, but this had an additional charge of £7.99 for an all you can eat full English. We walked through the restaurant at breakfast time and wish we had stopped for some, it smelled and looked delicious.
Booking All Premier Inns can be booked online or over the phone. We tried to book our overnight stay on the phone, but we were told they were fully booked. Luckily we were hosting a party in the attached Kilton Inn, and spoke to the manager, she went and asked the receptionist for us and they managed to find us a room. Our over night stay cost us £59, which is comparatively on the dear side, considering our friends stayed at a Travelodge 4 miles down the road for £29.
Location This Premier Inn is located on the A50 between Knutsford and Lymm. It is in an area called Mere, a small village approximately 3 miles from Knutsford. The m6 is a short 4 mile drive away as is the M59. Surrounded by picturesque farmland, this is quite an isolated hotel, a car is essential, but at least a quiet night’s sleep is possible away from the hustle and bustle of town or city life. Manchester city centre is a short drive away, as is Tatton Park and the Trafford Centre.
This is a super quality budget hotel in a peaceful setting. I would highly recommend this hotel and it’s adjoining restaurant and public house to families, couples and lone travellers.
