With the current financial situation it seems unlikely that anyone can really afford to get away anymore, but with hotel chains such as Premier Inn offering great value rooms anything is possible.
Who are Premier Inn?
Premier Inn are the UKs biggest hotel chain with over 500 hotels. They have been in operation for over 20 years and offer clean, comfortable, and value for money rooms. They are part of the Whitbread company. They offer double rooms, twin, single and family rooms. If you are a family then they offer great discounts such as: 2 children Under 16 stay free when in a family room and they also get free breakfast when accompanied by a full paying adult. This is ideal if your a family on a budget.
Premier Inn rooms.
I stayed at the Premier Inn at Aintree Liverpool but reading through the literature I was given it seems that all the hotel rooms are the same. In my rooms there was a very comforatable king sized bed, en suite bathroom, colour TV with remote control, tea and coffe making facilites, central heating and a hairdryer. They have a motto of if you dontt have a comforable nights sleep then they will refund your money back, I must say that I had a wonderful nights sleep, which I didnt really expect. I think if you pay cheap you get cheap but that was definatly not the case here.
Premier Inn Aintree,
This hotel is literally outside the gates of the world famous racecourse and would be great if visiting the Grand National which takes place in April, although I was lead to believe that the rooms get booked up very quickly and you have to book one year in advance. The staff are extremly helpful and gave us loads of information about what to do and see in the area. Although we were visiting friends and they were showing us around the city, it was good to know the styaff were there if needed. Across the small road is a pub called the Rocking Horse, here they serve food till 10pm and also do two meals for £10. The food was good and if travelling with children there is also a Wacky Warehouse attached. Our room cost us £56per night (just under £30 each) which didnt include breakfast, this was cheap compared to some of the city centre hotels which were in excess of £100! This hotel is only 5 miles from liverpool city centre and there is a railway staion arcoss the main road and also a bus stop outside if you came by car the hotel offer free car parking.
I would reccommend this hotel, in fact the chain of hotel, I would have no problem staying at another premier inn in the UK. I thought the rooms and hotel grounds were spottlessly clean and the staff service was excellant.
