I have been here several times. Following refurbishment went for another visit. They have now introduced table service - previously you placed your order at the bar & the order went by computer direct to the chef & a waitress brought you what you had ordered, usually only 2 waitresses were on duty. There were 4 waitresses in a half full restaurant & they were struggling to cope. Tables were getting incomplete orders, including our starter & we waited ...
...the main course was arriving before the starter had been finished. The food was very good but the portions appeared to be smaller than last few times we had been there. They later ran out of fish for fish & chips - Friday afternoon! Maybe the smaller portions were because they were running low on other courses?
The menu has been reduced from our last visit & the desserts list was limited. Also the 4 waittresses were complaining about overwork ... more

Tables were getting incomplete orders, including our starter & we waited quite a while for each course to arrive - usually the main course was arriving before the starter had been finished. The afternoon shift arrived at 3.00 & the 2 waittresses replacing the other 4 had very little to do up until when we left.
Under the circumstances I am not inclined to return here which is a shame as it used to be really good.
