HEATHROW PREMIER TRAVEL INN
Premier Travel Inns
Whitbread are the owners of Premier Travel Inn and they believe Premier Travel Inn offers the UK's best value for money accommodation, with rooms from around £50.00 per night. They claim that one of their hotels is within 5 miles of 75 percent of the UK population and that they not only provide great accommodation but also great food. All Premier Travel Inn's have a restaurant on-site, with most beside a Whitbread restaurant. The hotels are great for either business or pleasure and for business clients many of the hotels have on site meeting facilities.
Premier Travel Inn is the UK's biggest hotel chain with over 480 locations across the country. They have more hotels in more places, making it easier for you to stay away from home and wherever you need to stay, at Premier Travel Inn you'll find comfy, well-equipped bedrooms and en suite bathrooms. Having said this their keen rival Travelodge has just been taken over and is developing ambitious expansion plans.
Premier Travel Inn prides itself on looking after the family and they were voted the Parents' Favourite Travel Facility at the Tommy's Parent Friendly Awards 2007. The hotels have a great range of facilities including: modern, spacious rooms, good quality restaurants, free kids' packs and fantastic 'Great Days Out' offers – all at family friendly prices. Up to two under 16s can eat a full breakfast free when accompanied by an adult eating a full Premier breakfast at Premier Travel Inns.
Heathrow Premier Travel Inn - Bath Road
The London Heathrow Premier Travel Inn is ideally located 1 mile from Heathrow Airport Terminals 1,2,3 & 4. Wireless internet access is available in all rooms and public areas throughout the hotel.
It is a relatively new hotel and all 590 bedrooms are air conditioned, comfortable, well equipped and suitable for families. The hotel also has a restaurant, late bar and coffee lounge. Rooms can accommodate up to two adults and two children. The Heathrow Premier Travel Inn has a fully licensed Slice restaurant & bar which serves a variety of delicious food in a bright and contemporary setting.
We stayed at the Premier Travel Inn, Bath Road for nearly a week and didn’t fly anywhere during our stay. The hotel proved to be an ideal base for visiting the local area including: Legoland, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, and Central London. My brother also enjoyed looking out the back of the hotel at the constant stream of aircraft landing at the airport.
Hotel Environment
The modern atmosphere at this Premier Travel Inn is helped by the large open area down the middle, with the check-in desk, Slice restaurant, bar and a 24 hour coffee bar. Being close to Heathrow Airport means the hotel needs to cater for the needs of clients going on holiday by aeroplane, and as far as we could tell they did do.
At the Premier Travel Inn you‘ll find each room has: a king-sized bed; good quality duvet and pillows; en suite bathroom with bath and shower with shower gel; remote control TV; tea and coffee making facilities; hairdryers; heater control; spacious desk area should you need to work; internet access; restaurant and licensed bar; hot breakfast; family rooms; cots (on request); smoking and non-smoking rooms; 24 hour reception. Parking is available on site at Heathrow at additional costs of around £8.00 overnight for residents. Park and fly packages are also available.
This hotel has rooms adapted for customers with disabilities where beds are arranged to enable easy access.
We chose this hotel because of its close proximity to many of the attractions west of London and we’ve stayed in Premier Travel Inns in the past. Although often cheap and cheerful they generally provide a sufficient level of comfort for the whole family. The car parking charge did bump the price per night up a bit. We also found there were always sufficient spaces available for parking for the duration of our stay.
Payment for Premier Travel Inn is on arrival, although you’ll often need to pre-book by telephone or on the internet at peak times. We were offered breakfast, which is an extra, and took advantage because of the free breakfasts for under sixteens.
The Hotel Room
Our room was on the first floor and even though it was the middle of summer the whole hotel was cool and fresh. The window in our room was shut to keep out aircraft noise, but to be fair it wasn’t too bad at this location in the hotel. The rooms were larger than other Premier Travel Inns we’d stayed in and that was because of the modern nature of this building.
Our room was fresh, clean and the beds well made. The room facilities were good with the bath and shower in a well equipped bathroom. Our coffee and tea making facilities were very welcome and enabled a quick brew to be made during those short breaks in our holiday when we stayed in our room.
We all had a good nights sleep in the comfortable beds and the room temperature was fine although, especially as we were able to vary the temperature via the room thermostat.
Meals
We had one evening meal in the Slice restaurant within the hotel during our stay. The menu was typical of the usual national chain and we felt the prices were a bit high for a Premier Travel Inn. The food was nice enough but the service was a bit slow on the night we ate there. As seems to be usual these days the restaurant was very busy, but the staff available to serve at a minimum. I should mention that it was a weekday when we ate in the restaurant.
Breakfast is served early with a hot choice of bacon, fried and scrambled eggs and vegetarian and meat sausages. Toast and croissants are also available. Kellogg’s Cereals in mini packs, mini muffins, yoghurts, fruit salads, fresh fruit and dried fruits are available as cold options or for starters. We ate all we needed and were quite happy with what was available for the price.
Summary
The room rate appeared to be quite a bit cheaper than was observed at other hotels around Heathrow Airport, but obviously some of these are better quality. However, I am happy to recommend this hotel as a good, cheap, clean place to stay. It is very handy for the airport and also for a base to explore the area. The roomy air conditioned atmosphere is important in the Summer, especially when you enter the hotel after a day out in the South East heat.
For proximity to the transport network this hotel is ideal as it is close to the M4 and M25 and the vehicle accesses to Heathrow Airport. Public transport is also widely available along Bath Road and at the Airport. A link bus service can take you to Heathrow Airport.
The only real negative point about the Heathrow Premier Travel Inn at Bath Road is the separate car parking fee. I believe this gives the customer a bit of a feeling of being tricked when an extra charge is levied. Overall a very enjoyable hotel for a comfortable stay and I recommended it to anyone wishing to stay to the west of London on a budget.
Altogether a perfectly agreeable hotel experience.

Advantages: everything Disadvantages: very little
In my own personal opinion, this hotel is one of a kind. I set my standards very high
when I am looking for a hotel to stay, and I dont just look at the rooms, I look at the overall standard of the hotel.
This hotel ticks all of my boxes. The staff couldnt have been any better, they were both friendly and extremely pleasant.
The only problem for me was the food here, but that didnt make my experience any worse, as there are plenty of other food ... ...big enough for all of my family, so we book two rooms at a reduced price, which helped. The capital city is full of tourist destinations
and this hotel is near by almost all of them and if not, within a short journey. You can easily catch a cab from outside. ...
