Premier Travel Inn Luton - Airport, Luton

Advantages: close to where I live
Disadvantages: just no thought given to the customer

...I hadn't been to Luton Airport for about three years until I flew to Majorca from there in June. I heard that they had been making great improvements to the departure lounge and that, indeed, work was still very much in progress. Well was I disappointed with one of our 'premier' package holiday airports? Yep, you bet. What a tip! We were flying out at around midnight. The airport was not too busy. There were a few Easyjet flights going out - all seemed to be delayed too. Plus three or four departures for the Med. Facilities were desperately limited for the ordinary traveller. They have a 'food court' - a Cafeteria area, Bar and takeaway. But despite the airport being hardly at its busiest point of the season, you couldn't get a seat or a table up there. Advantages: Genuine Budget Travel

...My first flight with Easyjet was the beginning of a trip of a lifetime round europe. I was meeting my two partners in crime at Luton airport for our flight to Barcelona. Easy I thought living in Glasgow I'll catch the Glasgow to Luton Flight, then on to Barca, well not quite the Glasgow Luton Barca plan was flawed as the connection wasn't really a connection, I would have had to endure around 6 hrs in Luton. Never mind I did get to Barca for about 60ish quid not bad. Since then I have flown quite frequently with easyjet, only had one delay of 45mins, and recieved first rate buget travel. It does feel abit like your getting on a bus, but I think that is how it should be, after all we are very close to Europe.... Read review

...Don’t be fooled by the billing London Luton Airport. Luton is no where near London. It will take at least an hour at off peak times to get into town from this airport. The cost of a taxi cab will be prohibitive, but coach services are available. Luton tends to be used by the discounted ‘no frills’ airlines which offer excellent ticket prices on European flights. The ticket price should however be balanced out against the additional costs of public transport, or additional driving time needed to get here. It is also worth bearing in mind that Luton flights tend to go to airports similarly distanced from your destination city. It is not unusual for example to spend more time and money getting from London to Luton, and then from your destination airport to destination city, than you actually spent on the flight.
