*Introduction*
The 'Premier Travel Inn' chain is biggest hotel chain in the UK and has over 480 locations across the country at cheap prices, with rooms starting from £48 per night. The Premier Travel Inn at Nottingham has 160 bedrooms in total, on 4 floors. My boyfriend and I decided that we would go and stay in Nottingham as we have never been there before, and we chose this hotel as it was cheap and had a good location.
*Location*
The hotel is located right in the heart of the city centre so there is easy access to pubs, clubs, restaurants and shops. We arrived by train, the hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the
train station, or if you prefer you can get the tram from the train station for £1.40 each and it will drop you off just a few metres from the hotel. The road on which the hotel is built on is very quiet traffic wise because obviously there is a tramline there. We stayed there at the bank holiday weekend and there weren't that many people around, although there is a University on the same road so it is bound to be quite a bit busier during the week. There is an off license next door to the hotel, which is supposedly open late at night, although it was shut during all of our visit! *Check In* When we rang up to book the hotel, we were given the wrong check-in time (we were told 10 when actually it was 2.) We arrived at the hotel at 12 so we had a 2 hour wait. The receptionist let us leave our cases at the hotel, though to save us carrying them about with us. The receptionists were friendly enough and welcomed us. When we returned to check-in at 2 there was a bit of a queue as can be expected, but there were three members of staff on so that it didn't take too long to be sorted. We were given just one room key card, this is needed to enter the lift also so was a bit inconvenient as there were two of us that we could not have one each.
*Parking*
We didn't use the car parking, but there is a small car park which is a few minutes away from the hotel on 'Talbot Street'. Prices and availability is as follows: £4.00 from 5.00pm to 9.00am. £1.10 per hour thereafter, up to a maximum of £12.00 per 24 hrs.
*Reception Area*
In the reception area, there are a couple of tables and chairs, snack machines and a shelf full of leaflets of local attractions. It is just your average reception space really, they also have toilets and a bar / restaurant in the next room.
*Food*
There is a restaurant which you can eat in, also there is a room service (but rather annoyingly, you can't order breakfast through room service). The restaurant menu can be viewed here: http://www.premiertravelinn.com/temp/pti/cache/cmsattach/1374_Slice_main_menu.pdf
The breakfast is a little pricey, it costs £7.50 per person for the buffet!
*The Rooms*
A room costs:
Monday - Thursday £60 per room per night
Friday - Sunday £56 per room per night
You have a choice of double, family or twin and there are also rooms for people with disabilities. You don't appear to be able to book a single room though.
The rooms are nice enough, the colour scheme is purple and white and quite attractive for a 3 star hotel. (see photos below). Our room was very clean and so was the bathroom. The bed was particularly comfortable and had a nice thick duvet and fluffy pillows.
There are the following facilities in the room (double):
King-sized bed with duvet and pillows En suite bathroom with bath and shower Shower gel / shampoo Remote control TV Tea and coffee making facilities Hairdryer Heater control Desk area Internet access (availiable for a fee) Table and chair Two mirrors, one full length and one over the desk
The TV had all the 5 normal channels, plus ITV2, BBC3, a music video channel, a sports channel, a news channel and a hotel radio channel.
The bathroom has a bath and a shower in it, with four towels plus another for the floor. The bathroom is extremely white, in fact there is no other colour in there! One of the things I like about staying in a hotel is nabbing all the freebies from the bathroom! Unfortunately, you are not given any at the Premier Travel Inn, not even soap! There is a container of Lux in the shower which is labelled as shampoo and shower gel all in one. I would recommend that you bring your own body lotion, shampoo and conditioner.

*Overall Impression*
Good standard, clean rooms for a three star hotel. Ideal place to stay if you are looking for a cheap hotel in Nottingham city centre as it is right in the centre.
