This particular Premier Travel Inn is situated on the Oxford Business Park. It is just off the A4142 on the junction with the B480 and it is opposite the Rover Works, 3 miles from Oxford city centre.
My husband originates from Wallingford near Oxford so we travel up that way occasionally to see old friends and family. We were finding it more and more difficult to find a reasonable B&B for the night. Most of them in that area are £60 upwards for a room.
BOOKING ++++++++
We booked our room online. This was very easy to do. You find the hotel that you want, then check availability. You can then choose the type of room that you want and reserve it. You only pay for the room upon arrival and it can be cancelled as close as 1pm on the day that you arrive.
You can check in after 2pm and do not need to vacate until 12pm the following day.
If you are travelling for business purposes then you can open an account with them and charge the room to your business card. They will then take payment by direct debit around 10 days after you have received the statement.
COSTS ++++++
It is actually cheaper at the weekend, no doubt due to the fact that a lot of travelling salesmen need somewhere to stay during the week.
Mon-Thurs - From £62.95 per room per night
Fri-Sun - From 57.95 per room per night.
This does not include breakfast.
FOOD +++++
As stated, breakfast is not included in this, however right next door there is a Longwall Beefeater and this provides a Buffet breakfast for £6.95 for a full selection of cereals, fruit and full English, or you can have Continental Buffet for £5.25
Personally, we usually go to the nearest Tesco, where breakfast is 35p per sausage, bacon etc. So you can build your own breakfast for a lot less!
If you want food at lunchtime or in the evening, then Beefeater do a wide and varied selection of dishes.
PARKING ++++++++
There is ample parking beside the hotel which is free.
FACILITIES +++++++++
Premier Travel Inn has a standard of facilities. All rooms include an ensuite bathroom with a shower, tea/coffee making facilities and a tv.
This particular Travel Inn is classed as a "Metro" which means that you get upgraded facilities, such as satellite television, hairdryer, computer modem point. Apparantly "WiFi" wireless network facilities are available although we did not take our computer with us, so could not check this out.
Our room has shower gel and soap dispensers in the bathroom too.
There is a notice in the room stating that irons and toiletries can be hired/bought from reception.
The heating control is now accessible for the room and you can adjust the temperature to suit, although it was 18 degrees which was quite comfortable.
PERSONAL OPINION ++++++++++++++++++
We booked a non-smoking double room. The room was very clean and tidy with blackout curtains. The bathroom was very clean. The bed was fitted with white linen and was a bit soft but very comfortable. There were extra pillows on the cabinet.
The reception was manned by a lovely lady who said that if we wanted any more tea/coffee etc, then we only had to ask.
I have always found Premier Travel Inn to be of a certain standard. Yes, all rooms look the same, but at least you know exactly what you are going to get.
We stayed here as we were going to see Grease at The New Theatre Oxford and found it very convenient and close to the city centre.
I would recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay in Oxford.

"I have always found Premier Travel Inn to be of a certain standard. Yes, all rooms look the same, but at least you know exactly what you are going to get." Exactly my thoughts and exactly why they and Travelodge are my first port of call whenever I'm looking for overnight accommodation.

I guess our first port of call is to check the nearest YHA hostel - as we are both life-members - but it is good to know that there is a similar standard everywhere when you use a Premier Travel Inn - you know what to expect. . . . - .................................................................................................... ~ ♥ ~ jes
