...the distinct impression this was normal practice for them.
We met another 8 people the next day who had had exactly the same experience of being booted out of the President.
The HotelPresident's behaviour towards us was totally unacceptable. They took our money and did not deliver the goods.
If you do choose to book here, please beware that their confirmation letters may turn out to be worthless....

Advantages: Location - but I'd rather be in a better hotel further out Disadvantages: Pretty much everything else!
...This hotel is way below the standard of any I have ever stayed in. Having arrived in Russell Square by tube we found the hotel without too many problems, although it feels a little as though it is up a back street. First impressions were not good - the whole place looked as though it were in a time warp.

Location
We chose the hotel mainly because of its location, as we were only there for a short time and we wanted to be able to get around quickly on foot.
The HotelPresident is a 5 minute walk from the old town and Diocletian's Palace. The hotel folder in the room says it is 5 minutes walk to the business area and 10 minutes walk to the railway, bus station and harbour. I think these are slight underestimates based on our walk around town, especially as it is quite busy down by the harbour (and we were just at the beginning of the season). It's not the nicest area to walk through...
