Gold Coast, Australia's pride, sun, surf, sand
Review of Gold Coast Break by  Writing321

Advantages: Sun, surf, sand, golden holiday
Disadvantages: Bit touristy

...Australia's Gold Coast really does have it all....golden sands, golden sunshine...a dream destination. What a place. One morning I looked out the window of our 22-storey apartment to see massive whales frolicking along in the Pacific Ocean, water plumes bursting into the air - no binoculars needed to see such an impressive but unexpected sight. Australia's ''Sunshine State'', on the eastern side of this huge country, takes in the area from around Brisbane, down to Tweed Heads in the south. At the heart is Surfers Paradise - 80 kilometres from Brisbane and about an hours drive from Brisbane's international airport. There's also another international airport at Coolangatta and while that is closer to Surfers Paradise it doesn't accommodate many international flights. The Islands of Perpetual Sunday
Review of Independent Samoa (South Pacific Islands) by  cladach29

Advantages: Pristine rainforest and beaches, amazing diving, welcoming locals
Disadvantages: Not for those who cannot make their own entertainment

Samoa's volcanic history means that there are many underwater shelves and cliffs and gliding gently off the top of an underwater cliff-face is a truly memorable experience. For those wishing to try out diving, get their open water certificate or dive independently, Samoa offers everything you could wish for. The water is usually crystal clear but divers should note that in the rainy season (December to March) heavy rain and silt run-off from the islands can obscure visibility. In terms of diving operators there are many to choose from and I can do no better than recommend the services of Fabien and Anne, a warm and friendly French couple who organize water sports activities at the Aggie Grey Lagoon Resort on the north coast of Upolu near the airport. ♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣... Jewel of the South Pacific, FIJI!
Review of Fiji (South Pacific Islands) by  hunkaspunk

Advantages: close to NZ and AUS
Disadvantages: very humid in summer months, only serviced by Air Pacific

..., they lack that special something which takes your breath away. That is where the outer islands such as the Mamanucas (“ma-ma-nu-tha”) are begging to make your acquaintance. These groups of islands are a short boat ride (approx’ 1-2 hours) or a seaplane ride away. The fares are usually included in your pre booked stay at one of the many island resorts that are on offer. From the moment your boat hits the shore you will experience true Fijian hospitality at its best with a song and dance, and for the ladies a trip over the water to the beach cradled in the arms of a burly but gentle Fijian male to avoid getting wet feet. As soon as you step foot on the island all your worries will seem to vanish as pure relaxation is on the horizon. Your bags are waiting at the door of your private bure (traditional thatch hut), which are generally decked out... Read review
