Advantages: Good nosh, service and ambience Disadvantages: A tad cramped

Tucked away at the side of Snow Hill station, Primitivo's is quite a compact little bar and restaurant. One of the business quarter's better kept secrets, Primitivo's lack of floor space means that it is quite often crowded, particularly on a Friday lunchtime when the corporate charge cards are out in force. Offering a sandwich menu as well as light meals and the main menu, Primitivo's offers a fulsome collection of old favourites, cooked in the open plan kitchen just off the main dining area. Pasta seems to be a favourite, even though the majority of the menu is more English fare, with a daily special always offered. Nothing is too heavy or rich and all meals are well presented. The wine list could perhaps be a bit lengthier however. One thing you'll definitely remember about Primitivo's is the lighting - in the main dining area, it's virtually non-existent. This makes it ideal if you fancy a secluded and slighly moody looking place for that important tete-a-tete or if you're trying to forget that you should be in the office. As you could easily feed four people for under £50, it's well worth a look.
Advantages: nice old part of town | nice coffees and restaurants | safe Disadvantages: not that special for sightseeing and going out...
