Advantages: Good cheap hotel, good facilities Disadvantages: Odd location, under the expressway!
...in the surronding streets, but be sure to haggle a price before you get in.........everyone tries to rip you off, just keep your guard about you!
There is a nice swimming pool outside buts its right next to the expressway so therefore can be quite noisy! The gym is nice thou and has modern facilties.
The reception staff are all very friendly, although i phoned them several times to request extra pillows but to no avail.
I took the hotel taxi service on a sightseeing tour one day and the driver was very helpful, and took us to the reclining budda and the grand palace and told us many interesting things about not only Bangkok and the places we were visiting but about his own family which was a lovely insight into Thai life.
All in all a very good hotel, and it can be booked on the internet for dirt cheap prices, well worth it for a flying...

Advantages: Shopping, great food, cheap, friendly people Disadvantages: Tuk-tuk drivers, pollution

The trip begins
On most of our trips earlier we have chosen to fly KLM because: a) it has been the cheapest alternative, and b) Amsterdam is not very far from Stavanger so it is easy for us when we travel. But I feel that the quality of KLM has gone down in the years since I started travelling so this time we decided to try Thai Airways instead (they were in fact the cheapest alternative).
We decided to fly to Thailand on September 11th and due to the events last year on this date many people asked if we really would dare to fly on this day. But we did and we left Stavanger on a beautiful clear day. We made some arrangements before going and that was to book a hotel in Bangkok and to book a hotel at Ao Nang beach in Krabi. The first hotell was booked by Tom - a close friend of Olav and Allis, who lives in Bangkok. The hotel in Krabi...

Advantages: In centre of town, clean rooms Disadvantages: food was expensive

The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and the sheets were changed everyday. We were in the middle of the town and near to the Golden Palace which is a tourist hotspot, we were also near to the main town and all the shops were easily accesable. There were plenty of banks surrounding our hotels so changing up out money was very easy. The night markets were a 10 minute walk from the hotel and the red light district (which is worth a look for the culture shock) was a 15 minute walk. There were quite a few tailors and other shops further away from out hotel which we could get to by a 'tuk tuk' car and this was a very cheap method of transport (about £2...

As a fairly regular visitor to Bangkok, I always book flights and then sort out my own accommodation rather than get a package deal. Accommodation is cheap and plentiful there, we're talking £10 - £15 per night for what might equate to a three star... more
I choose this hotel as a result of a special offer on 'asiarooms'. On arrival we were promptly shown to our room by a very helpful member of staff.
The Deluxe room was a lot bigger tahn other hotels I have stayed in. However, it did seem a little... more
