in the residential area of Menton: you will discover an atmosphere of charm and character at the hotel. The superb view of the mediterranean and the Menton-Italian coast is pleasantly enhanced by the hotels small tropical garden.
Elegance reveals itself at the Hotel Prince de Galles - Paris Champs Elysees. Built in 1928 during the Art Deco period, this hotel is a legendary place capturing the essence and mystery of Paris. A gold leaf chandelier and marble floors extend a stylish welcome in the majestic lobby. Named to the Condé Nast Traveler 2004 and 2005 Gold Lists, the Prince de Galles flawlessly blend Parisian elegance with warm hospitality.
Advantages: A clean bed, hot water, good location, friendly helpful staff, Disadvantages: Breakfast not inclusive, no tv or Kettle for tea, ltd internet use, noisy rooms
...We arrived at Hotel Notra-dame, our booking was missing & no available twin room. They booked us in Hotelde Nevers next door. We had to change rooms 3 times. 1 room was horribly shabby and had no on suite facility.
The shared toilets are located on the stairwell; a safety hazard . The shower was located on the floor above also very tiny size with no room to manouvre. It had no ventilation but there was a good supply of hot water and soap.
There was no use of a fridge, or oven to up warm food. No TV in room or tea/cofee making facilities which would have added some comfort.
Towels were not changed daily as expected, not sure about linen as we changed rooms so much. The pillows were the boster type not flat, very uncomfortable.
The rooms are not sound insulated and noisy both from traffic and other residents...

Advantages: colonial splendour, a very welcome retreat from a dirty old town Disadvantages: Don't be absurd!
...Colombo City is a deranged, dusty, frenetic type of place where large brown cows wander self righteously down the main roads seemingly oblivious to the crazed over stuffed buses and insane tuk-tuk drivers that cross their paths;(while in Sri Lanka I noted with some amusement that while traffic will screech to a halt and patiently wait for cows, dogs and the delightful, lazy monitor lizards to amble at their own pace across the roads, humans receive none of this polite conduct and have to take their own lives in their hands)..............the humidity is breathtaking, like being suffocated by a warm, wet towel, but fear not respite can be had in the form of the grand old colonial hotel "Galle Face". Established in 1864 this is a salute to the old colonial days when Sri Lanka was Ceylon and pale, european ladies perspired gently...

Advantages: Value for money Disadvantages: High demand
...Everyone has heard of Ibis hotels, but not many people are aware that they serve other countries worldwide, such as France.
Ibis Paris Roissey Charles de Gaulle Paris is a modern 4-storey building which was built with tourists in mind in the 1980s.
This hotel is perfect for any occasion, whether you're staying the night before/after your flight, or looking for somewhere to stop-over to visit Paris city centre! Situated 2.5km from the CDG airport, this 304 room hotel is perfect for families on a budget. The prices are standard for Ibis htoels, with a room costing
between 66-84 Euros (£45-56) during the week - depending on the time of year and 66 Euros (£45) at weekends. Although this
may seem quite a lot for an airport hotel, its a lot less than other hotels in the are are charging, and you have to bear in mind the demand...
