I remember the day when I was younger going shopping here and thinking it was great. Great selection of shops, Brilliant layout, Good food. A Good day out. To be honest nowadays you'd be lucky to spend 15 minutes here without being bored or disgusted.
All the shops within the mall are overpriced in comparison to shops in St. James Centre across the road or on Princes Street. On top of that the selection in the shops is very small as each outlet is way smaller than is found elsewhere. Let's hope that this prime location on Princes Street could be used for a better purpose.
Advantages: Its close to where lots of people work. You can get there during lunch. Disadvantages: Its running out of steam.

The sort of thing that the Princess Mall tries to get you do include – stepping into a small OurPrice and buying a CD for around £15 when there are two HMVs and one Virgin MegaStore just across the road where you can pick the same CD up for around £12. Needless to say that the Princess Mall has no success in this attempt.
The silver lining in this tale is that this slump will not ...

Advantages: Very Clean, Easy to get around, Lots of Space Disadvantages: Too few shops, not on two levels, not that easy to get to
The Gyle ShoppingCentre in Edinburgh which opened in October 1993 is one of 4 main shoppingcentres in Edinburgh. The others are Cameron Toll, St James Centre, Waverley Market(PrincesMall) and Ocean Terminal. There is also Westside Plaza but this isn't exactly what you call a main shoppingcentre and Straiton park,Craigleith(The Quarry) and Fort Kinnaird are all Retail parks.
The Gyle is a approx a 10 minute drive from Edinburgh International Airport by car/taxi. It is approx a 30 minute drive from the City Centre depending on the time of day and the route you take to get there as it is often very congested nearby due to it being directly opposite Edinburgh Park(Home to the RBOS headquarters and a whole host of big companies) .The area round the Gyle is mostly businesses and there is are many houses nearby within walking distance ...
