It was the first park in the urban area of the city and was designed by none other than Sir Joseph Paxton who became internationally famous as the architect of the Crystal Palace in London. Actually, Princes Park was his very first commission; that was back in 1842. The person who asked Paxton to design Princes Park was a very wealthy Liverpool philanthropist named Richard Vaughan Yates-he had earlier purchased 90 acres of land from the Earl of Sefton and he decided a park should be created but houses would be developed around it.The end result was a total of almost ninety green and pleasant acres.

It is much smaller than Sefton Park and was privately owned until 1918 when Liverpool City Council bought it at the bargain price of just 11,000 pounds. Now that was the bargain of the century for it actually cost around 70,000 pounds to build.Anyway thank goodness it has been preserved and well maintained for it is a vital "green lung" for the people of Liverpool.
Last September, I and 4 other friends went on out first holiday away alone and our destination was Benidorm, staying at the PrincePark Hotel.
Location
The main aim for out hotel was to enjoy the night life of Benidorm, which indeed we could as we were a short taxi ride away or a 10-15 minute walk from the strip of bars and clubs. This hotel was a little further away from the centre of Benidorm than we thought, but this deffinatly was to our advantage as the noisy night life continues through the night, and at the end of you nights out we could escape back to or hotel to get some sleep un-disturbed.
The hotel was close to some shops, a hospital and a few local bars.
The room
The rooms as great and very clean, ours had a fantastic view of Benidorm.
The cleaners were welcoming and did a good job; rooms had TV?s, Air con ...
Advantages: Beautiful building, a great park and picturesque view Disadvantages: A bit expensive
This street has some big name shops and stores..... and opposite you have the Princespark. I find most of these stores quite expensive but if you have taste in designer clothing, jewellery or goods, this would definitely be your shopping street. You can rest in the nice green park after your shopping and enjoy the spectacular Castle view. Princes street is within waking distance to the Castle, Waverley Bridge etc and is therefore easily accessible. The history of the old and new towns in Edinburgh is inevitably tied to this Street. If you are a history student or enthusiast, it would benefit you alot to know that Princes Street divides the old and new towns in Edinburgh. The Old town is a marvel of gothic and medieval architecture while the new town which is about 300-400 years is the face of 18th-19th century architecture. ...
Advantages: Great for day trip Disadvantages: Not a sandy beach
Eastbourne has been a popular seaside resort in the South-East since the 18th century. I went there last summer and found the beach surprisingly clean. The locals told me that the beach was cleaned daily by the local council; also, dogs were banned from May to September. The Eastbourne Pier provided many amusement arcades, souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants. In the late afternoon I walked on the hill near the beach, and I had a very fine view of the sea. Wish you were there!
