Have you seen the film? If you have, you would have had to have fallen asleep to notice the beauty of this island!
Kefalonia is one of the small Greek islands, offering picturesque scenery, clear blue seas and not to mention peace!
One of the hotels on the island is the Princess. It's located about 25 minutes from the airport and is only 300 meters from the nearest shop / supermarket. The beach is located at about 500 meters.
You only have to look at the pictures (http://www.princesshotel.gr) of the hotel to understand where you'll be staying. A small hotel having only 40 bungalow style rooms means you won't be bumping into hundreds of people! It has a large pool with enough sun beds for nearly every guest. The staff are very friendly, and always serving you with a smile. The hotel itself has its own bar restaurant, but is only good for snacks. To eat in the evenings it's easier to pop out to many of the vast restaurants available. You won't be spoilt for choice - There's Greek, Italian, Chinese - and mostly every restaurant can cater for the British traveler.
Kefalonia is strongly recommended for couples, or couples with very small children. There's nothing much there to entertain the little ones! Nor are there any lively clubs - so you won't find any 18-30 groups out there (few!)!
The island offers plenty of excursions. One of my favorites was a day cruise around the Ionian islands. If you're lucky - you may even catch sight of a few dolphins! You stop off during the cruise for lunch on another small island before your trip back!
Nearly every major tour operator travels to the island. Flights are usually restricted to certain days. I would recommend a stay of 7 nights or 10 at a push. 14 days would get too boring!
Prices range from £350pp but can go up to £650 in the height of the season.
If I was asked to go again - I would! The island is slowly changing (been twice in 4 years). See it now before it starts to lose its 'Greekness'.
Read more on this beautiful island (http://www.ionion.com) and prepare for your next, relaxing summer break away!

Maybe you'd have to be asleep NOT to notice? I'd also like to know a little more about the hotel ~ types of bedroom facilities? suitability for disabled? what amenities are at the hotel? What about ability to cope with special requirements? internet access? To edit your review, use the "Edit review" / "Write a review" link above (under the Product Name and Review Title). I haven't considered Kefalonia before, but it sounds like a great place to visit ~ ! ♥♥ ! ~ ........................................................... ~ jes ~ ! ♥♥ !

Kefalonia looks lovely and I've heard nothing but good things about it. One day I'll get to visit! x
