Principal Hotel, Dublin

Advantages: everything about the place is an advantage.
Disadvantages: the non smoking policy (for some)

...With the exception of Tenerife I usually tend to holiday places only once, preferring to try new places rather than return to ones I have already visited. I have been to torremolinos twice now though and a large part of the reasoning behind that is this wonderful hotel (Sol Principe). This hotel is situated alongside the beach of Playa mar approximately 2km outside the city of torremolinos. It is served by Malaga airport which is a little over 4 miles away and takes only a 15 minute transfer by coach to reach. On approach to this hotel the first thing that caught my eye was the size of the grounds it stood in but it soon became apparent why. ...OVERVIEW I had not heard of the Carlton hotel chain prior to my visit to Ireland in late 2006, but it turned out to be a brand new 4 star modern hotel and the cheapest of this hotel class in Dublin at the time of my booking. I had already had a bad experience with a previous hotel in Ireland and was anxious that I didn’t want this episode repeated, so I took the plunge and booked with the Carlton. I was not disappointed and will be returning later this year. The hotel is ideal for short breaks, business meetings, people with an interest in aviation and families. ...I am visiting Dublin again for the fifth time in November & was looking at Ciao reviews. I'm very surprised that this hotel hasn't been rated yet as it is a little treasure. I should say at this point that I went there in 2001 with a 6 month old child & they catered for him very well, so no problems on the family side of things. The only thing that is a drawback about this hotel is that it is a little way out of town. However, there is a bus service right outside if you are on a budget & wish to sample the (dubious) delights of Temple Bar of an evening & the taxis are not that expensive either should you wish to get there in better style. I've stayed here three times, twice on a tour of Ireland visiting family, once on a dedicated Dublin city break. On each occasion I have had nothing to put me off of the place. Situated...
