With our 12 year old, my wife and I loved this modestly priced non-tourist-urban setting, with a balcony overlooking the street, with its electric trolley and bus stop right at the hotel door, and small, old, but quick and reliable wire caged elevator. Our room was simple but very clean and spacious, with all the amenities, and other rooms, as well as the breakfast room, overlook the interior courtyard, with a taste of Roman living. The breakfast was plain but plentiful, freshly hard boiled eggs, rolls with butter and jams, corn flakes, a little fruit, a couple of nice shaved meats, juice, coffee, cocoa, kept open for both earlier and later risers. If the electric trolley and bus, both of which connect to Termini, aren't enough for you, a metro stop really is less than 3 blocks away right down the street. You'll have to call, or ask them to call, for a taxi, though, and one will arrive in minutes. Literally the oldest gelato maker in Rome is catty-corner a few steps down the street, doing a constantly bustling business of mainly Romans well into the evening, and the restaurant downstairs has cheap espresso and hot fried bread balls in a fudge like nuttella sauce that is simply delicious. The family running this little suite of rooms are very nice and helpful, and we hope to see them again. If you prefer to pay extra for something more picturesque, or to avoid graffiti and street noise, this may not be the place for you, but the area definitely felt secure, and if you enjoy a taste of the city, and keeping your euros in your pocket for dining and shopping, I highly recommend it.
