Four of us recently travelled over to Amsterdam for a weekend break andstayed at this charming little hotel. We booked a quad room which although was small, was clean and catered precisely for our needs i.e. a comfortable place to sleep for a few hours in between trips out to see the sights the city had to offer. The hotel is centrally located so perfectly located for our intentions as sightsee-ers.
The hotel staff were very friendly, although the night receptionist (we could never remember his name) was perhaps a little too jovial, although he was very helpful in pointing out the main attractions and hot spots. This hotel also offers a continental breakfast from 7-9am with a selection of teas, cold meats and cereals. We were very pleased with the selection on offer, but don't expect a cooked breakfast of any sort.
The hotel is open 24hours, although you have to be buzzed in after 12pm so someone has to be on the main reception to see you. At the time of our stay we didn't see any families and the average age of guest ranged from mid thirties to late sixties (with the exception of ourselves who were early to mid 20s). However, this is not to say the hotel doesn't cater for families with young children, only that at the time of our stay, we didn't see any.
We were all very pleased with this hotel, especially for the price. I think it worked out at around £30 pppn. One word of warning though, the hotel does allow you to leave your baggage in at the hotel after you've checked out, but baggage is stored in a little room with a generic key given to all guests, so it isn't very secure. We had to climb over other bags to release ours from the piles of other peoples baggage and were a bit alarmed by the lack of security. We could very easily have walked off with someone's bag or someone with ours.
