Bath's bridge

Advantages: Pretty
Disadvantages: Thats it...

Pulteney Bridge is one of only three bridges in the world lined with shops on both sides. It is an 18th-century bridge(built 1769-71) and, along with the assembly rooms, roman baths and the abbey, is one of the most admired structures in Bath. It was built for William Pulteney by his architect Robert Adam, a fan of the Palladian design. Over the years the bridge has suffered so many changes that Adam would probably barely recognise it!

3. There are two restaurants - one on the bridge itself and one just off it that both offer lovely views, I would recommend eating in one of these, just for the view.

In all honesty Pulteney Bridge isn't all that great! but its three classical arches over the river Avon just above Pulteney Weir is a must see for anyone taking some time to visit the beautiful ... more

Elegant Bath

Advantages: Beautiful. Elegant buildings.Masterpiece of urban planning
Disadvantages: Expensive. Can get crowded

Bath is one of the most beautiful small cities in Europe !This elegant, spa, town, was greatly appreciated by the Romans who settled there and built baths to be used for therapy and recreation. In the 18 th century as spa treatment reached the height of fashion,Bath was to be greatly enlarged. The end result : a masterpiece in urban architecture. There are so many sights to see ! There are the delightful Georgian-style Circus,Royal Crescent and Lansdown crescents to wonder at,the lovely 15 th century Abbey, the magnificent Pulteney Bridge, the Roman Baths,Assembly Rooms and Pump Room are other great buildings. Then there is the fine American Museum to visit at Claverton Manor, a gorgeous theatre, art galleries, and verdant botanical garden at Victoria Park. As befits a major tourist destination Bath's accommodation base is sophisticated ...

Review of Bath (England)

Come to Bath!!

Advantages: Lots to see and do!
Disadvantages: Plenty of walking (if unable) too much to see in a weekend!

Cyclery which is situated behind theBath Spa Railway station. Adrenalin High on Walcot Street are great for advice on adventure sports in Bath and do suplly the equipment. The Victoria Art Gallery is opposite Pulteney Bridge and is Bath's largest gallery. With temporary exhibitions, the feel changes regularly, however there is a permanent display upstairs. Owned by the City of Bath College, The Hotbath Gallery on Hotbath Street exhibits students work and contributions from international artists. Clubbing in Bath is usually found to be underground as most clubs are in old Victorian houses in the cellars. Moles has live music, wereas somewhere like PoNaNas covers most mainstream tastes. There is another club, the biggest in Bath, called Cadillacs. This is a club for those that like to listen to chart music. Bath holds its ...

The Lovely City of Bath

Advantages: Wonderful architecture. History.Culture.Good Eateries
Disadvantages: Can get busy. Pricey

Bath,a real Georgian gem, is one of the most beautiful small cities in England and possibly in Europe ! This very elegant, and very attractive ,spa, town, was first "discovered" by the Romans who settled there and built baths to be used for therapy and recreation. In the 18 th century when spa treatment reached the height of fashion, the city of Bath came to be greatly enlarged. The end result : a veritable masterpiece in urban architecture, thanks to the genius of its main architects. There are a lot of sights to see in this fine city ! There are the attractive Georgian-style Circus,Royal Crescent and Lansdown Crescent to gaze at,the lovely 15 th century Abbey to admire,, the magnificent Pulteney Bridge, and the Roman Baths,Assembly Rooms and Pump Room are other great buildings. The main problem is that the city is hilly ...
