Advantages Advantages Pure luxury, see loads of different countries in one holiday

Disadvantages Disadvantages Loads of stairs to climb.

Picture this. There he was, sitting at the computer, choosing a special holiday to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. "A cruise" he said "But I don't like boats," she said, "You won't know you are on a ship" he said, "Oh well, if you insist" she said reluctantly. Funnily enough I had really thought that we were going to fly to America and cruise around in an open topped car. Oh well. So what did he want out of a holiday cruise? Firstly not to have to fly anywhere. So that meant Southampton. Secondly to go on a plush ship. So that meant the Cunard line. Thirdly to cruise the Med. Easy that ... more

Advantages Advantages Food glorious food, the beautiful views

Disadvantages Disadvantages Excursions not handled well, not enough activities on port days

For our 1st Wedding Anniversary myself and my husband decided to treat ourselves to a cruise. We are aged 24 and 27 and it was to be our very first cruise, very exciting! Because it ... more

Advantages Advantages Pure luxury and indulgence

Disadvantages Disadvantages You need sea legs

Our last cruise on the QE2 was a short cruise to Bilbao (closed for a festival), La Rochelle (closed on Sunday in France) and Guernsey (closed for the bank holiday) - but it still didn't affect our enjoyment of the cruise on what must be one of the best ships in the world. Pure luxury and sheer indulgence are terms which come to mind. We had a Q2 suite - one of the best on the ship, walk in wardrobe, sitting area, one of the few private balconies - with meals in the Queens Grill - equivalent to a 5* hotel and regarded as one of the best restaurants at sea. The QE2 may be approaching 40 years ... more
