Six nights aboard this wonderful ship will sweep all those cobwebs away. The Greatest Ocean Liner Ever, Just picture the unrivalled splendour of your voyage aboard Cunards! The luxurious Queen Mary 2. Traverse the mighty Atlantic in 5 stars of Luxury.

Set sail from Southampton on your 6 night voyage, 4000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean. New York is the destination and New York from the Air is special, but from the Sea it’s just exhilarating.
If you are one of the lucky ones to sail on this Ocean Liner, Then let’s see what you have let yourself in for.
Make a grand descent down the sweeping stairway of the splendid, 3-story Britannia Restaurant, Aboard the Queen Mary 2, 117 feet shorter than the Empire State Building is tall (1248 ft.) Britannia Restaurant: QM2's main dining room: other Restaurants; include Princess & Queens Grill Restaurant; Todd English; Kings Court; Golden Lion English Pub; Boardwalk Café; Winter Garden.
Asian; Italian Trattoria; American; English; Indian.

We were guided by the ships steward too our room, on entering the room my daughter commented on the location of, her bed, Ah Nut too wurie, hi fech it forr u. At that point he reached to the ceiling and pulled a hide away bed from the ceiling. We all stood their, with our mouths open. Wow my daughter replied. Du you like sum shampane, he started to pour our champagne and we were already swaying at this point, bells ringing in my ears, I thought I had developed tinnitus, Ladies and gentlemen welcome aboard the QM2, shortly we will be asking everyone to join us in the winter garden, and I questioned what for? Surely they can't have a garden on board, I wouldn't put it past them, I thought; imagining that there was a winter garden, actually on deck. I knew it was pouring with rain to!

After several attempts of finding our way through the maze to winter garden, we followed the many signs and eventually arriving at winter garden... We were overwhelmed by the sea of orange life jackets.
And not! Daises, I soon realised, it was the ships safety drill. We really did look a portrait, wearing our orange jackets. After our 60 min safety drill; will we find our way back to room, so many staircases and so many ship maps and symbols telling us our location and floor stating you are here. I thought to myself; if I don't know where I am, how can they possibly know!

I don't know what royalty feels like but my guess is, this comes very close; if not better.

Remember the last time you were rocked to sleep? Its day 2 and I soon realise why we were so sleepy and tired. I soon figured it must be the ships movement, you feel so relaxed it's difficult to wake up. When dawn breaks and you're trying to come to terms, where on Earth; you actually are, curiosity prevails and you soon know where, when we hit the remote to confirm it. The TV is a web cam to show you exactly.
Oh boy there's no turning back. Sea and sea and more sea!
0600 and its Workout time in the gym, watching the sunrise across the never ending ATLANTIC ocean and after your workout its time to pamper yourself with the grand slam, it's Breakfast time and I may be able to have some extra this morning. Well I have done my workout. We approached the overloaded breakfast counter and tried to make the guy in front feel guilty, who was loading is plate with a bigger breakfast than Everest and I was making him feel guilty with my choice of fruit and yogurts, emm? After our first course we soon fell into the trap of returning for some more of that lovely fruit, again we started to fill our plates with bacon and eggs and... Whoops, well we are on holiday! Now we have found more confidence we began to feel much braver, we thought of Everest to! Once started you cannot stop. Well it’s all free!

The auction being held in the Art gallery was due to start. So after our breakfast party, we made our way through the many corridors towards the art gallery.
Do I take 200 pounds, £300, £400, I soon realised that these prices were way out of my reach; I could not bring myself to pay £1000 for a piece of art work, I only had £2000 pounds for the whole of my 3 week holiday in the US. But I did buy a pot of fine acrylic paint and a brush. (£12.00), I soon found out £1000 pounds was the least that someone had paid. The Rembrandts went for, well..?.emm....

Our next task lunch, I was well stuffed buy now! After lunch we made our way to the theatre, no not the operating theatre, but I did doubt myself especially after the Everest attempt.
show time in the Royal Court Theatre and I did think to myself, well its most probably going to be one quite amateurish show. I knew i was already bloated from AM and have never eaten so many words all in one go and choked on them. Well I am probably use to it. I was mistaken! The shows are not to be missed! That's if you have the will power to avoid all the other activities and interesting sites en-route.

Tuxedos at the ready and off we go for dinner, feeling like a million dollars, but only feeling like, in our luxurious sea-view Restaurant.
Still stuffed from breakfast and lunch, we were about to endure dinner, but we needed to retreat too base and spruce our selves up for the formal night gathering in the Britannia room restaurant, 1st and 5th night informal; in-between nights formal..........................The two informal nights you choose, your own attire!!
We sat down for our food and before we knew it we had waiters coming from all directions, white suits and white cloths hanging from their wrists, jug in one hand and 5 plates in the other. It felt like, we were at the Billy smart circus. Sitting and swaying from side to side with the help of the ship, I was dancing in my seat so the waiter could serve our goodies. I felt dizzy!

After dinner we headed towards the ballroom for a Foxtrot and Rumba and to show off our tuxedo and gowns. I could only do the cha cha cha. Welcome to the largest ballroom ever to sail the seas.
Good evening, Good evening captain I replied, are we out of the force 12 storm I asked him? The captain spoke, what storm? He replied and at that point everything was fine. After shaking the captain's hand we were in the ballroom. what do I do now I questioned myself, I tried to find a quite area in the ballroom amidst the 1000s of passengers, I went down to the front where the food was displayed, en-route i was showered with champagne and not sham pane, like my personal steward calls it.

The band played on and on and on and the band needed to, I just managed to find enough coppers for our drinks, we were out of free champagne and it was now down to the £4 a bottled bear made in china.
Joking apart, it was very nice! Although the bear was expensive it did not matter what price and how much you consumed you knew you hadn't got far to travel, only another 3000 miles. Yes you do have to pay for your drinks! That’s not quite true though; you do have some help towards your drinks and £125 token given to you prior to your departure each, does help.

Tip of the ship, exchange and draw your dollars from the cash machine on board.

We were on a role at this point and trying to absorb all the Grandeur and fame, looking my best at all times for the photo shoots, especially before dining in the evenings. I was so glad they didn't afterwards they would have got confused with the whales in the deep blue sea.

Fact of the ship, all the waste is consumed by the sea life.

My trousers at bursting point, with just enough breathing space for my Sony digital camera, Choked by my collar and tie, The Big Band Played on and I danced the night away and towards the end of the evening I knew the end was nigh, all i could think was let me get out of these trousers, I am feeling like a whale...................................................................................................... You do get bloated anyway at sea
meanwhile during my restroom visit, Unknown to my knowledge, my wife and daughter had ventured into the G4 night club disco tec behind the Ballroom, rear of the ship. I searched and decked the situation out and found them dancing to Rod Stewarts classic we are sailing. I joined in, purely to shift some calories and I danced and danced so much, I felt that I was on a ship! I tried to co-ordinate my dance steps in tune with the ships swaying and my robotic moves, when the ship hits the 50ft waves......................FACT its rare to get sea sick ,its all down to the highly technical stabilisers; The size of 2 cars.

Gross Tonnage 150,000 tons (approx.)
Length 1132 feet (345 metres)
Beam 135 feet (41 metres)
Beam at Bridge 147 feet 6 inches (45 metres)
Draft 32 feet 8 inches (10 metres)
Height 236 feet 2 inches (72 metres)
Passengers 2,620 (3,090 max)
Decks 19 (17 pax)

It did not matter if you had overdone it with the drink because no one would ever know any different when its just one happy family.
Enough is enough! Its 0200 am and we have had much fun throughout the day, its time for that old fashion cup of cha, we had left the g4 night club and on return we stop for a drink, with a chicken Roast and side salad, followed by; Death by chocolate gateaux.

My room was only a cough and a spit away; I could not even get their, without our last ingestion of food, and I am only on my second day. So far; yet so close!
I could not eat this much food the next day with out ending up in casualty. I had only tried 2 of the 9 restaurants, oh dear. Enough is enough and I took some positive action, I started to use and give myself continuous access to the free fitness programmes, I also condensed my food intake. It is very easy and normal on your initial days or your first cruise to fall into the trap.
Where can you live in 5 star luxury; eat as much as you want, dress up like a king and see a different top west end musical every day for 5 days; pamper your self in the spa; take any educational course possible; try your luck in the casino; dance the night away in the disco or ballroom. Ride the waves either on deck or in the planetarium; swim whilst listening to a Caribbean band, shop till you drop. And eat some of the most consistently nicest food anywhere in the world. All for £800.

Dining is a celebration where superb culinary creations are served by waiters trained in the fine art of food. Make a sweeping entrance all dressed up in your finery, take your seat,
There is a team of outstanding chefs and 10 restaurants in all,

I'm sorry but I found this really difficult to read, as I felt it needed to be spaced into paragraphs. Nice review, just the layout let it down.

Nicely written, but the spacing was a bit awkward with the paragraphs! That's me being fussy though, I'll stop :-) -FT
