Qantas Frequent Flyer program

An unoriginal name but at least you know what you are joining.

I joined this program just before we left for our Australia and New Zealand trip as we were going to be flying with Qantas and doing several internal flights as well. I am a member of KLM/Air France Flying Blue as well as we use these airlines most of the time. The flight to Australia and back is obviously quite long o you do amass ...
...worth it.

Qantas is an extremely reliable airline and I have flown several times with them when I lived in Australia but had not flown with them recently so had not bothered about the frequent flyer programme before.

HOW TO JOIN :
Signing up was extremely simple on their website www.qantas.com.au. There is a link near the top of the page for 'frequent flyer program' and you click on this. The website is simply set ... more

Up, Up and Away with CPA!

Advantages: Food
Disadvantages: Leg room, entertainment not as good as other airlines

at a certain time and if you wanted to watch them you had to start watching them when they were on. On other airlines I have travelled on you can pick what movie you want to watch and when and you just start them whenever you feel like it. In addition the audio channels on Cathay Pacific were more like a radio and you listen to whatever is on them at the time whereas other airlines have a range of CDs you can pick to listen to and even make your own playlist. However I wouldn't let this affect my choice of airline as it isn't really a big issue for me! Cathay Pacific is a partner airline of British Airways and Qantas so if you are a member of Qantas Frequent Flyers you can use Cathay Pacific flights to earn Frequent Flyer points. This is free to join for British citizens and is really easy, you just need to go on the Qantas website and fill ...

Review of Cathay Pacific Airways - CPA

The small airline with the big heart

Advantages: Impressive route network, punctual, friendly crew
Disadvantages: If 'plane breaks down, there's no replacement

, NZ and Vanuatu. Travellers on a tight budget may like to look into this option as a cheaper way to get there, although like Air Vanuatu, flights are not daily between any two given airports. (see www.virginblue.com for details). It is also possible to get to Vanuatu with Air Calin, the carrier of New Caledonia, which operates services from Oz and NZ via New Caledonia to Vanuatu. My feeling is that Air Vanuatu is the preferred option for getting to Vanuatu currently, but are now beginning to face competition from other airlines and so for the traveller this may mean lower fares. ---Frequent Flyer Programme--- In addition to codesharing with Qantas flights, Air Vanuatu is also part of the Qantas frequent flyer programme (which includes other major airlines like British Airways) so if you join this then you can get points with Air ...

Qantas Services

Advantages: on-time
Disadvantages: bad service, expensive, old aircraft; unhelpful staffs

I have flew with my baby (3 months) from Perth to Singapore last year 2007, it was 5 hours flight. I have booked for bassinet and when I checked in they did not say anything about bassinet, so I assumed that everything was fine. When I was on board, my seat was in the middle of the aircraft without bassinet. I had to carry my son 5 hours flight. When they serve meal, I tried all my best to eat with one hand. When I finished I asked for removal of the tray so I could go to the restroom. The staff answered me that "You have to wait to your turn" (!!!). So disappointed and piss off I said "Thanks for your concern." From that point of time, I never fly Qantas unless I have no choice. I'm a frequent flyers member and I have flew with them many times and any times always have some problems. So for my conclusion: 1. The service is slow ...
