I was flying from osaka (Japan) to Perth and the on to sydney (australia) in the summer of 1998. Mybe the crew were just having a bad day, but we were on the recieving end.
First of all I must decribe myself. 5ft 8. White, blond hair blue eyes. Very obviously european. I was in aparty of 10 all very similar to what I described before. Once in the the first thing the crew did was to hand out the entry visas to australia. To which we thanked them. Half was in English, the other Japanese. We filled in the english. And forgot about them.
For the next 12 hours the crew whoi none of which wanted to be there begrudingly parted with the food and drink. Every little thing was a hastle.
On leaving Perth during the safety demonstration one of the members of the crew decided they just couldn't be bothered and just sat down in the middle of it.
Finally we landed in Sydney waited an hour in the emigration cue only to find that we had been give the wrong visas. The japanese bit turned out to be the declaration.
Now the US aviation authority has taken away there licence to service any american airline. The best thing I heard.
