Qatar Airways do have very modern aircraft, especially on long haul flights. However, be prepared to put up with unruly children in economy class as their parents are normally 'sitting comfortably' in Club Class! The cabin crew should try and be firmer with these 'little darlings', but the majority of them fear for their jobs as the kids parents are often influential people in Qatar. Having said this, the food is good and the crew are multi-lingual and generally efficient. Flights are usually punctual and check-in facilities are better than they used to be. Unaccompanied minors, children travelling without their parents/guardians, are looked after extremely well and are sometimes treated to a visit to the cock-pit and given small gifts. For some strange reason though, flights from UK - Qatar - UK are cheaper than Qatar - UK - Qatar. This probably has something to do with the fact that the majority of air fares from Qatar to the UK are paid by employers to their employees. Qatar Airways is now the only non-stop flight to the UK from Qatar - approximately 7.45hrs flying time. A good airline, but it could be improved even further.
