I can't count the number of nights I've spent here. This hotel is strange in that so many of the great staff who were there when I first stayed there in about 2001 are still there. I don't know any hotel with a lower turnover of staff.
It's got a trim room I never use, the usual satellite TV, pianobar (which brings in people from neighbouring hotels like the Thon and Rica that offer their residents nothing in terms of entertainment), lots of well specified meeting rooms and free coffee (and GOOD espresso TOO), popcorn, fruit, ice cream, water etc. to guests and conference attendees. Rooms are clean and comfortable. It's also on the edge of forest with trails marked out.
It's the perfect balance between being near the major airport in Norway without feeling as if you're living at an airport. Communications with the main roads are excellent since you don't have to negotiate all the airport roads before you reach the main roads.
The GREAT thing about this hotel is that it's not that close to the airport. Have you ever had a room in a hotel near an airport and discovered your room's at the end of a runway at 0600hrs when the first flights pump their engines against your windows? I have.
Quality Airport Hotel Gardermoen is 8 minutes by "flybus" to Gardermoen. The bus costs 60 Norwegian krones each way. It took me LESS THAN A MINUTE to get from my ground floor room to the bus top for the "flybus".
Buses are frequent and with Gardermoen airport (OSL) being a well run, organised airport, as long as YOU are organised and use the electronic check in machines as you enter the terminal, you can drop of your luggage at the baggage drop and be checked in to fly 15 minutes after leaving your room.
Great staff, no aircraft noise, great facilities, 8 minutes from the airport. There's really no competition. The hotel keeps on expanding but just gets bigger conferences booking themselves in there and has to make plans to expand again. The sign of a product that's more than competing! Every time I go there, I see the same companies having conferences there. It seems the hotel has a hardcore of customers who just give it loads of repeat business.
Oh .... and there's free FAST broadband and wifi access. This hotel really hasn't missed a trick. It's got it all without being intimidatingly flash and patronising.

Scandinavian design. The vast majority of the rooms are for double accommodation, either with twin or double beds - most with shower facilities the rest with bathtubs...
