We stayed at this hotel with my partner last year after a five day trip across Norway. We found the hotel through hotel club and booked it using some of our hotel club dollars. The current quoted rack rate is 910 Kroner (£76) per person for a double room. The rate that we paid was approx £120 for two people.
We chose this hotel, as it is located very close to the airport and we had an early morning flight. The hotel provides a shuttle minibus (best to pre-book) and the cost of a taxi was approximately 120 kroner.
The hotel It is a purpose built hotel, designed to cater for the airport market. We noticed that there were several groups of airline crew staying at this hotel. It is a modern looking building, with 153 rooms, many of which are suitable for people in wheelchairs.
The inside of the building is very open plan, and it is light and airy particularly in the foyer area.
There are glimpses of the fjords from a number of public locations in the hotel, and our room also had a small fjord view.
The facilities There is a hotel restaurant which serves a wide range of food. The range of meals was good, and the quality of the food also quite good. We ate here both for our evening meal, and also for breakfast (which was included).
The buffet was excellent with a range of cereals, cold meats, salads and hot food including eggs and bacon.
There is a gym located in the building, however, we did not have a chance to try it out.
The room The room was a mini-suite. There was a separate lounge room with sofa, TV, table and hi-fi system. The bedroom was quite large with a king size bed. The bathroom was superb (I do like having underfloor heating in a bathroom).
The staff Were very pleasant and helpful. The receptionist took a great deal of time to explain how to get to the hotel (we had to drop off our hire car) and even photocopied a bus timetable and map for us.
Would I recommend this hotel? Yes, only if you need a hotel near the airport. I have Otherwise it is a bit too far from the centre of Bergen if you wish to do a lot of sightseeing.
