Taking the P out of "Quality"

Advantages: Somewhere to park, food quite good
Disadvantages: Filthy cramped rooms, uncomfortable beds, noisy

the noise from the kitchen's extractor fans to keep me awake. Having given up trying to sleep I put the TV on to drown the noise, Channel 4 at 2 am is not great viewing but does have the advantage of drowning out the hum. Eventually I managed to doze for a couple of hours but woke at about 5.30, as some guests returned from the local club and passed my door. Breakfast was OK, buffet style with planty of choice, I have never had bacon that didn't taste of anything so this was a great new experience for me. on checking out I paid £65.75. This was for dinner, bed and breakfast plus a few pints of beer. Not expensive for a hotel but overpriced for the "Quality" of service received. Can I advise anyone driving into Birmingham along the Hagley road looking for a hotel to keep going and not turn into the "Quality"? THe Thistle is ...

Quality Street

Advantages: central location, cheap(ish), large room
Disadvantages: hanging space limited, rooms on a walkway

Mack was on the lookout for a holiday in September, and just by pure luck she saw an ad in one of the Sunday papers for half price holidays with Virgin. Review of Quality Inn International, Orlando

City Inn - a hidden gem.

Advantages: Price, features of room, location
Disadvantages: err... food is a bit bland and pricey

I think I spend far too much time in hotels, and can be quite demanding. That said, it is with pleasure I report that the City Inn in Birmingham is a hidden gem. Location The hotel is located in the trendy Brindley Place development just off Broad Street in Birmingham, and as such is ideally situated for pubbing, clubbing and general merriment and yet being secluded (for a city) enough for a bit of peace and quiet. Brindley Place itself is home to a variety of trendy bars and restaurants including the (in)famous Bank and various luxury apartments. It's a mainly pedestrianised area, and is easily accessible by foot bus or train from New Street station. The majority of other hotels in the area are located directly on Broad Street, which can be quite noisy with the drunken hordes clamouring around after about 10pm. Mind you don't get ...
