We stayed at this hotel in July 2004 with a family of 5. The location is superb for everything that Orlando has to offer. Situated slap bang in the middle of I-Drive, all the main attractions are nearby. Disney is about 15-20 minute drive along Interstate 4 which has a junction by hotel. Universal, Wet n Wild and Sea World are at most 10 minutes away.
Parking at the hotel can be accessed from Sand Lake Road and I-Drive and has security at entrance. Parking near to your block of room can be difficult after a long day at the parks, but doesn't cause any problems as well lit.
The hotel has rooms in main hotel blocks and several two-storey buildings. Our room was in a two-storey building and overlooked one of the pools (ideal for the kids). The room was what I expected from a motel style. 2 double beds, a rollaway bed (ordered in advance), tv, drawers and small "wardrobe area", bathroom with toilet, bath and shower, wash basin outside bathroom with coffee making facility and microwave, fridge (great for storing cheap supermarket water for next day). All in all the room was basic but all we needed after long days at the parks.
The hotel itself offers a supermarket, restaurant, bar, swimming pools. Due to its fabulous location you can explore I-Drive on foot and try out the great choice of restaurants and other facilities around. Great favourites for us were Ponderosa (all you can eat buffets breakfast and dinner), Denny's Diner (next door) - great service and Wendys (fast food with a great 99c menu)
We are going back in November this year to the same hotel as it offers what we need for a trip. Affordable accommodation in a great location with facilities for all the family.
Advantages: Good budget motel in ideal location with very good on-site facilities Disadvantages: Lack of adequate hanging space when room at full occupancy
