Quality Inn NW Medical Center, San Antonio

Advantages: Great city, plenty to do, see and eat
Disadvantages: Go in season

...Remember the Alamo? Your not kidding, I couldn’t forget it. I walked past it at the same time every morning and night for a week - and a couple of times more for good measure. Not that I should, or want, to paint San Antonio in a bad picture - far from it, its my favourite North American city. Its just a week is perhaps a little too long off season. I will explain. We decided to take our trip to the States (a week in San Antonio for sightseeing and then a few days in Florida to top up the tan) for the first week in November. The reason - the flights are miles cheaper than October. The reason for this - most America's tourism seems to shut down on the night of October the 31st. I would love for the sake of my hands and your eyes to make this a quick review but this just wouldn’t do San Antonio justice - so lets crack... Read review

Advantages: Great "Rivercenter Mall", Alamo, lots of other attractions

...I visited San Antonio in November 1997 when I stayed with my Uncle in Fort Worth, near Dallas. It was very enjoyable, we visited the Alamo, which is the site of a famous battle, which was very interesting. We also visited an amazing shopping mall with a river running right through the middle of it! You could go for a ride on a narrowboat through an area which many Americans dubbed "Little Venice", as it has lots of nivce restaurants and was lit up to stunning effect at night. This shopping centre had lots of great shops and an IMAX cinema, which we visited, and it was great!... Read review

...We chose to visit the Holiday Inn Alicante Playa de San Juan for a week in July after having three very pleasant stays in Express by Holiday Inns in the UK. We were not sure what to expect in terms of quality, however it was probably one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed in. The cost was €94 per night for an en suite room with king size bed and an “almost double” sofa bed. The room was on the third floor of the hotel and had a view of another apartment block to the rear of the hotel. However, this did not cause any problems as the apartments were quite a distance from the hotel, therefore not blocking the panoramic view. THE HOTEL The hotel building is over 7 floors: the ground floor, floors 1 to 5 and a floor called '-1'. If you are given a room on the '-1' floor, don't think that they are shoving you...
